I like Idris, thought he was brilliant as Luther in the TV series of the same name but to me he is not Roland and I will struggle to watch and reconcile what I have as my vision of Roland with what is on the screen in front of me. Also so many things are going to have to be changed to fit this major change in.

Sir, I must respectfully disagree. As it stands now, DT is a unique series of novels enjoyed by an exclusive group of constant readers and relatively unknown to the vast sea of illiterate idiots at large--and I kinda like it that way. It's like our own special club. Once it becomes a 'film', it is at the mercy of critics, haters, and fiends who don't deserve it.

But that's just me: I like my books a helluva lot more than these here newfangled moving pictures.

Tres amigos.

I guess the DT movie is going to be a reversal of what normally occurs with CR- Book read/ "adaption" made/ disapproval that the adaption was not the book.

Scenario -- those who have never read the DT journey........

DT movie watched/ interest perked about the book(s)/ book (s) read/ disapproval that the book(s) had nothing to do with the motion picture. They read no further. A journey not taken. Sad.

I just have a sneaking suspicion that those involved with this *cough* adaptation *cough* have bits of fur showing around the edges of their jawlines.

At the very least, when this is all said and done, and it has tanked worse than Josh Tranks Fantastic Four reboot, King will have enough source material for more Dark Tower books. This time around, after Roland and Eddie get King off his lazy *** to finish the story, they must travel to Hollywood to stop the forces of the Crimson King from butchering said story. I've already played out a beautiful scene in my mind, where our two beloved heroes storm the production offices to take out the low men in yellow coats.

One can dream.

It makes no sense to me. No sir, I don't like it. If it's on TV in the future and I can see it for free then I'll definitely check it out but I would not pay to see a movie called 'The Dark Tower' that is very loosely based on a Stephen King novel. I think I'll just make my own Dark Tower movies and sell them to real fans in the underground (I'll put a tithe aside for Mr. King once the ugly lawsuit breaks open)! I did like hearing that he sold the movie rights for $19 dollars. Very cool.
