I'm the same. Did the TV show first and now the books. But, I'm glad I am watching at the same time. My pea brain couldn't keep up with all the characters in the books if I didn't have the show to fall back on.
The paperbacks, at least, have appendices in the back if you get stuck except they're broken down by the various houses so if you don't remember where the character fit in, you still have to hunt. At the rate I'm going with the books, they'll be done with the sixth season before I get through the books and on to the TV show! Still only in the 400s of book 3 (probably roughly about the same as you) so avoiding spoilers. Will be interesting to hear what you think about having done it the other way around.

That's right about where I am!!
Tyrion is meeting with Tywin and Tywin is all over him about getting Sansa with child and Tyrion's refusal to do so.:D
Yes, those appendices are a lifesaver aren't they? I also find myself studying the maps quite a lot too. For some reason it helps me with getting the action straight.....LOL

Hahaha I think that's where my bookmark is--just finished reading that section! I haven't been using the maps but might have to start doing that.

:biggrin-new:

Now that you saw the final Flake
Do you think Brienne actually killed Stannis? We don't see it happen. How did you like Cersei's "walk"? Will Dany be alright? And Drogon?
I think she did kill Stannis...
I ended up feeling so bad for Cersei, which pissed me off because I've spent the whole time up until that point cursing her out. (loudly and often)
I think Khaleesi will be fine and will probably end up ruling this new bunch too!
Poor Drogon... I think he might be done for. :(

We said the same thing about Cersei....LOL How about the big "thing" that picked her up at the end of that scene?.....oh boy....yikes! I would imagine Brienne did, but I want confirmation. Yeah....my poor little Dany. She better be alright! Drogon too!! He's the coolest......:D

Somebody has definitely been busy in the lab!
I would like confirmation too.
I think Khaleesi knows how to take care of herself (though, I was yelling at her when she stopped to have a tender moment with Drogon during that battle in the arena... I mean, 'make him a target and get him killed much?' :hammer:
I want him to be alright too, he's a dude. (Wasn't the flying on his back thing soooo cool?)

Was "The Mountain" brother to "The Hound"? (and he was the one to burn him, eh?)

Yes they were and yea he did. Do you still have the final recorded?

If you do go and watch the intro, the previously happened scenes. You'll see the guy "working on" The Mountain after his fight with The Dornish Prince. The guy who got his head crushed. Ugh.

I was hoping that it was The Hound back for more fun and games, but my daughter pointed that scene out and dashed my hopes. I think the scenes with The Hound and Arya are some of the best in the series. I miss the little guy.....Damn Brienne. Although, like Stannis, you never see The Hound die....

I really like The Hound and am still hoping he didn't die. (I thought it was him too at first but then he looked too big and I couldn't imagine him picking up Cersei.... without crushing her like a bug.)

What about Arya, what is going on there?!

The Arya scenes are very confusing, aren't they? I loved that she got revenge on one of her targets, but I haven't a clue as to where that is going. I'm nowhere near close to that in the books so I'm clueless. Well you know that already but still......;;D

I think we're meant to be students... like her.

BTW... [random thought] if anybody says "for the watch" to me one more time... :glare:
*sigh* and, I have been quoting "you know nothing, (anymore) Jon Snow" all week...
