...if you all have a moment, I would appreciate prayers for a member of our state correctional family....an officer at SOCF in Lucasville was viciously attacked yesterday by an Inmate....he was stabbed multiple times and has had surgery to try to repair organ damage...he is stable and becoming more alert...doctors hope to extubate him tomorrow....this is the world in which we all work....it has it's rewards, but as in this case-a down, dirty and ultra-violent underbelly....please keep he and his family near in your thoughts....

...he continues to recover...but today I find out, he was working the Infirmary there, the counterpart to my location in my Institution....makes me fearful for the ladies I work with...I can take care of myself, but they don't have my height or weight....and his big size is what saved him from being killed....he was stabbed 32 times by shanks, the main assailant was in for aggravated murder and has killed TWICE while he's been incarcerated....the Inmate that was in on the attack is also a murderer....why they still draw breath is beyond me.....

She could not get to him in the hot dense smoke. In the newspaper article there's a picture of her standing in the heap and ashes. "I lost everything," she says. My heart is breaking for her.
