A lady I've known for a long time lost her home in a fire last night. She's 85 and her dog, who woke her up with barking and saved her life, perished in the fire. She could not get to him in the hot dense smoke. In the newspaper article there's a picture of her standing in the heap and ashes. "I lost everything," she says. My heart is breaking for her.

Before Christmas I asked for and received lots of prayers for my son's upcoming surgery. I should have said before this, but he is doing very well and thatks to everyone.

A corrections offer just puts up with so much, It is a hard job. The family is always worried.We just never think how hard it must be for them. I was so happy that my daughter decided to have children. As that took her away from keeping her profession of a corrections officer. I feel better knowing she works in the school system. I wish him the best in his recovery.

...bless you....we work within this world of violence and it becomes sadly commonplace...complacency is our biggest enemy....

He texted me an hour ago they were on lockdown and I also got a text from the school. Some kind of threat. Cops there. Have not found anything yet.

Message said we could check kids out (said it was a heightened security not lockdown) so I called and left a message, no answer. Evan is on his way home now.

I have no idea what the threat was but glad they are letting kids leave. I don't want him there...Prayers for the students still there and the teachers and law enforcement who are checking everything out.
