"LATEST UPDATE. (04/10/19 2:30pm) Shannon just got out of surgery. The surgeon said the procedure went well and felt he'd been able to break the clot up and get him a lot relief. He's heading to recovery now. He'll have other things to get fixed still but his immediate danger has been lessened.

(04/10/1912:50pm) They've just taken him back to start his procedures. No idea how long it will take yet.

(04/10/19 11:45am) We have a room but it will likely change after surgery. Currently in room 2201 which is in the south building at Northwest Medical in Springdale. We are expecting his procedure to begin around 1 or 1:30 this afternoon.

Update on Shannon: For those that I've not already told (apologies it has been a crazy 24 hours) Shannon was hospitalized yesterday afternoon at Northwest Medical in Springdale. We are still in the ER ICU because the ICU unit doesn't have any openings. Shannon has bilateral severe massive pulmonary embolisms as well as a massive DVT in his right leg.

He's also been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and several other issues related to the two. He was initially to have a vascular surgeon perform surgery this afternoon but several factors have delayed that until the morning.

He is currently resting as comfortably as he is able to be. I have relayed all of the love, prayers and well wishes to him and he is very appreciative. He's obviously his charming happy self being stuck in a hospital bed but he has been very thankful as am I for all of the support of our family and friends."

These are all the updates that Tamara has posted that I could find - hope this helps - :) - really happy that he made it through surgery and is in Recovery now!
Thanks for the update, Neesy!! Thankful prayers for success and continued prayers for healing and the process to come!

HollyGolightly - you're friends with Shannon too, so feel free to post away - I figured you're just busy at work at the moment.

I have to sign off so I can go post a letter now - arrivaderci

GNTLGNT-- do you have an update on Shannon?
...no ma'am....no-one from that side has reached out to me.....and I would like to clear up a misconception I may have added to...Heparin will not dissolve clots, it is an anti-thrombolytic-or an agent to keep clots from forming or getting larger-it will not destroy them... I apologize if I added to the confusion...my mind has been wandering an bit....there are a whole host of clotbusters out there and if possible, they can be surgically removed which seems to be the course they're looking into...Shannon is a big man, and that combined with his co-morbidities makes this a scary time. I keep sending vibes his way....and that is good news Neesy posted....I caught it after the earlier ramblings here....it is headed the right direction...bless the surgeons hands....

Was just looking over the 97 comments re Tamara's posting and I noted one from "Joe Hill" - turns out to be a different Joe Hill! (must be a relative)

No new updates to report yet. Luckily Tamara says they have good insurance so that is a relief!

Glad he appears to be "out of the woods" now

I have been letting him know we are all concerned and sending him so much good energy. I linked him to the two threads so when he feels better, he can see the support from this great community!
Thank you! We are all behind him and it's good that he knows it! So glad you alerted us in the first place!

Gentle reminder to our Tet! Have a plan for contacting the SKMB family for emergencies!! (((Tet-mates))):love_heart:
