I remember my impression being that Henry was so profoundly damaged by his childhood that he had no idea whether he was gay or straight--probably would have been safer for all if he were asexual.

As much as I hate to say it, I have been uncomfortable with Mr. King's gay characters in the past. I don't think there is any malice intended, but there are a whole lot of stereotypes rolling around, especially in the early books. I know this came up in the Mr. Mercedes threads, but the pickaninny voice is even worse. Though he's had many heroic black characters, that particular aspect of how he often writes them just makes me cringe.

Cristian is right about one thing: there are a plethora of middle aged, hetero women who write gay porn (they call it slash--same thing). It's pretty unintentionally hilarious (or so I've been told by friends who are in the know) :D

I cannot recall any oral sex just fondling like I said.
you're right , Patrick w*nked a bit Henry and was about to give him a bj when Henry woke up from the trance. My bad. I guess it was wishful thinking on my side or a more hardcore version of IT from a parallel universe slipped into my memory in this universe.

speaking of xmas lights and decorations , the yahoo article about White House xmas preparations got people suspicious that Christmas word is no longer politically correct in WH.

I know what you are talking about. The WH buckled down and for the first time called the Christmas tree...the holiday tree. I heard the critics and one was a Jewish man. He wanted it called the right name and more power to him. Why would we call the Christmas tree any other name but what it is? It is tradition, why change it? There are folks out there who are miserable human beings. They aren't from any organized religion or of any particular thought....they are just low men who want to take the magic out of everything. The middle eastern folks, who own a beer store, near me, wear Santa hats. The Buddist couple...who have a shrine with food and joss sticks, also, have a Christmas tree in their corner store. I get free candycanes and scratch and win tickets from them on Christmas eve. Most folks are nice.....others just want to spoil the fun. Obama should not call it a holiday tree....a rose by any other name is still a Christmas tree.

I would strongly suggest you not get your NEWS information from only Yahoo! articles. They can be very superficial and slanted to sensationalism.

Peace.

It's more and more obvious Christmas is called Winter Celebration, not even a holiday (because it comes from holy). I can't imagine who could be offended by Christmas word. Muslims, Judaic people, Buddhists ? Who ? Christians are not offended by Ramadan.

I find most other faiths are NOT offended by Christmas...I have Jewish friends who enjoy it. Most folks here, in my part of the city, are all on the same page and feel good about this holiday...and I live in a diverse area. The same ones who complain are the ones who want to ban books and things like that.....miserable pusbags.
