Scorching hot outside, impossible to stand on my balcony longer than 3 minutes.
Immediate sunburn.
Hey, Mother Nature?
In case you forgot, this is Canada.

Canada!
We are the people from the fridge, OK?
Sounds like your city is experiencing what we used to call "Indian Summer"

Here it is nice and cool - a gorgeous Fall day

Around 17 degrees Celsius - I love the smell of the air on days like this - it feels different than summer and not too humid

We will have rain this Sunday but hopefully no backlash from the hurricane (Nate). Today is a cool October day but sunny, a cloudless Windex sky. Goldenrod is cropping up at the edge of the pines, ditch, and backyard and the grape smell of blooming kudzu has long since faded. Rust pine straw litters the corner of the frontyard and fallen sycamore leaves look like crumpled parchment the color of a wasp's nest.

(My neighbor's Halloween decorations have all been displayed in her front yard and in her magnolia tree, which not long ago was strung with jelly bean Easter eggs, now dangle miniature sheet-ghosts.)
