Nice long hike, watched The Black Cat, and Mr. Man made fondue for dinner. How can you go wrong with melted cheese with beer, summer sausage, great bread, and vegetables? Thoroughly stuffed and very pleased tonight. Listening to Motown Pandora and drinking wine while I wash dishes :) KITCHEN DANCE PARTY!View attachment 12639
Whew, it's hot. About twenty five degrees Celsius outside. After saying all that food, I don't know but I'll see if I get some type of baked dinner. I might go for a walk afterwards just like you did.

I think it's probably about a 13-14 hr round trip. (but once you're in the city, add another couple of hours for traffic. Auckland traffic is disgusting.)
That's a long trip to get a car. :)
Re: you driving a Mom car: Errrr.... no? :biggrin2:
It's true. I was driving a big Jeep Commander until I swapped vehicles with my wife for a few days in some severe winter conditions. I never got it back. I guess we know who wears the pants in my family. :(

I am happy today because...

Since Sept' 21st I've been without a car because of an accident, the car ended up being written off. Because of this there was no rental/or panel-beater courtesy car for us to use in the mean time.
The insurance company has paid us out for it and so... today we have put in an offer on a car in Auckland (loooong way away from home) and it has been accepted. It will be AA checked/tested tomorrow afternoon and if the report comes back peachy, then by Friday I will have a car again!

I needed 7 seats... :biggrin2:
Awesome, Flake! So glad you'll have wheels now!

Sometimes. Other times I just glaze the top with straight Ketchup (or Catsup if the pope stops by), like I did tonight.

Sometimes for filler I'll use crackers, or breadcrumbs, or (south o' the border style) crushed Fritos with a taco sauce glaze--killer. And sometimes, if the stars are lined right, I'll use sausage for filler--wrap yer head around THAT concept!

sausage? never went there. I thought that I had done everything to a poor meatloaf that could be done. Like the taco meatloaf. have done that. without fritos. nice touch. Done it with jalapenos and salsa on top.

Usually just straight up, breadcrumbs, or bread. Milk, onions, eggs, and whatever is handy.

Ketchup on top, but squirt it fancy, chef like

Not to mention being bored with meatloaf and sculpted, baked in many strange shapes.

Fun with meatloaf.

Yeah I know... it's just the way it is here. The cars with the good spec's (low km's for the age etc) can only be found in the large cities... most often Auckland. (the largest)
It is cheaper to take a night bus up and drive back than to buy something closer to home.

A lot of people from a neighboring state do the same thing. It's pretty much all rural, so cars/trucks are cheaper in the more urban areas here. I think my aunts and uncles have bought just about all of their vehicles in the SLC area, then drive them home.

I am happy today because i talked with my future workplace today (start next week) and they said they would adjust the work to fit me better. I might even get oppurtunity to write Historyarticles on worktime!!! And they ask if i were willing to hold a lecture for the companys personal in different history subjects. Which is a big yes. I like to guide and talk about history and archaoelogy. If people are interested i am willing to share. We'll see exactly how it turns out when i start but it sounds promising.

Great news. Just a bit of advice... Let the fedora and whip behind when giving the lectures. (although it would be a hell of an ice breaker if you started the lecture off by cracking the whip) :)

Here, there and everywhere.
I'm happy that you're happy, Spidey!

I am also happy today because... I started a new job, and I love it. Today was my second day. Is it possible to be head over heels in love with a job? If so, I am. It's part-time, but I'm hoping it turns into full-time. I'm working in a library!! Oh, sweet heaven, I'm in a quiet room surrounded by books all day long. Shelving them, checking them in and out, pulling orders, checking books for damage (a lot of people read in the tub, apparently). And I'm smiling the entire time. I didn't want to leave this afternoon when the clock hit 2:00. What did I do to deserve this lavish gift of a job??
