I was crossing the street at a marked crosswalk in the parking lot and some woman drove right through the crosswalk. She almost killed me. I'm thinking of a lot of colorful words to describe her. I don't know how or where she got her driver's licence. I'm gonna report her to the mall cops. I didn't get her licence# because she was driving too fast, but I can give a good description of her vehicle.

Okay I'll say it because I know that everyone is thinking it.

When you cross the street, you always have to make sure the driver sees you. Never assume that they did even if you're at a crosswalk. When they stop for you, then you should acknowledge them with a hand signal to thank them. Even bus drivers and paramedics have been known to make fatal mistakes. Most of the time it's not intentional or the result of being careless.

I didn't report the woman who almost ran me over. End of story.

I think I can glue it back together, but it will still be visible. Gah, it's such a shame! :hopelessness:

It's a lot of time and effort, but I found one way to fix things which can't be repaired any other way is to glue them together with something strong such as Super Glue, then get one of those little rinky-dink supposed plastic welding kits which cure with a tiny special light. NEVER use those for the actual gluing, as only parts reachable with the light will cure! Then get paint, generally enamel, about the same color and amount of shine as the original object. If too shiny, when the paint is dry paint over the repair with semi-gloss or matte sealer. This will effectively disguise any chips or cracks. Good luck!

Michael, last name unknown due to the limited information the assignment gave us, may have not yet had two decades to his name yet, but his memory will last a lifetime. Michael touched any who knew him, he enjoyed swimming, and probably liked science based on the shirt belonging to the man on the above stock photo I found on google after searching up what was given of his physical appearance. Michael’s life was stolen from him by sickle cell, a disease that killed his grandmother when she was 25 and that his sister is also struggling with. May our hearts go out to Michael.

I ask for any and all condolences,

Now you've got me Googling sickle cell anemia? :tounge:

We had a girl at my last place of employment who claimed to have this - she was a very unusual person and hard to get along with.

She was at least 50 so maybe one of the lucky ones? i.e. did not die in her 20s

Last Tuesday a guy told me a guy died that I knew. He was originally born in southern Italy and came to Australia and settled in Newcastle. He was a brilliant guy. I used to get more depressed over death but don't as much now because I believe in the afterlife.

Extremely trivial, but I am bummed today because my bird restaurant fell apart. :topsy_turvy: I ordered a truckload of bird treats in adorable shapes (pine cones, hearts, snowmen) from the bird protection organisation I am a member of, planning to make a bird restaurant on my balcony. It looked lovely!

...Until I looked out of the window and saw that the rope cut through both seed hearts I put up and they were on the ground. :topsy_turvy: It's all fine though, I put them on a plate instead so the birds can find it on the table, it even looks nice. But it's such a bummer to see them on the ground within one day! But I probably had it coming, since they are heavy and this is how they are made:

Thank you for thinking about the birds in winter.
