Hi kingricefan and thanks for the link. Excellent numbers! The article stated 'R' rated. It was '14A' in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I hope we didn't get a diluted print! I'm sure it's just a conversion issue. In any case, good news and I loved the movie.
Maybe you Canadians don't get as upset about blood as we Americans seem to....;-D

Maybe we're just too polite to say so...;-D

I just HAD to go look it up ;;D:biggrin2:

14A14 Accompaniment – Persons under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. 18A – 18 Accompaniment – Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. In the Maritimes & Manitoba, children under the age of 14 are prohibited from viewing the film.

Judging by the last sentence, we did not get a diluted print

This is really great news. I'm sure it's dependent on how much more was actually filmed, but I hope it ends up being more than 15 minutes extra. I'd have been happy if the movie was twice as long.

My wife, who is not a horror fan and never read the book, commented that she would have gladly watched a movie that was just about the kids and their friendship. The chemistry between those actors was incredible.[/video]

Good to know! Thanks Neesy! I went to the Scotiabank Theatre (I hate that they changed if from 'Silver City' to a name of a banking institution). There was still quite a lineup and a packed theatre. It's doing well for sure.

And the biggest horror moneymaker of all time! Crushing King's previously most profitable film (adapted from his work) 1408 (2007), which raked in about 132 million. Funny, I was long of the mind that Carrie was SK's most successful book, film, et al. Not true.

Still, EVERY new James Bond film is sickenly called "The most successful Bond of all time!" When in truth, if you go by "butts in seats", or the less colorful "adjusted for inflation", Thunderball was by far the most successful, grossing nearly today's equivalent of a billion dollars. I wonder what Frankenstein (1931) made by today's money?

How Did ‘1408’ Become Stephen King’s Most Successful Horror Film?

It stands for "That's What She Said"
.....some of us around here are slightly warped in our sense of humor :biggrin2:

Something that has been bothering me the more and more I think about it: Why the **** did Bill dash over to Neibolt Street unprepared? In the book he has his gun, he has Richie, but in the movie he just bikes over there completely unprepared.

I saw IT over the weekend and LOVED IT of course which I knew I would going in, but it blew me away beyond expectations! Stephen King writings on film done right! I went with my teenage son and couple of his friends and they too Loved IT! My son is now reading the book, after all these years I tried to get them to like a good mom should and it never worked but now Stephen did that!

I saw an article , it may be around here somewhere already, but it was fairly recent so maybe not, it says that IT is just $14.2 million behind The Exorcist for being the top-grossing R-rated horror film EVER. It earns Rs 2300 crore in one week, poised to overtake Exorcist as No 1 horror of all time | hollywood | Hindustan Times

While I don't condone violence, people really do need to respect other people and NOT TALK OR TEXT WHILE WATCHING A MOVIE!
That's the main reason I haven't seen a movie in a theater (except for movies with my young kids) in 25 years. I'd be the one to tell the people to button it so the rest of us can enjoy the movie we paid for... and to leave if they couldn't. And probably get in a row in the end when they continued to be douchebags.
