Happy Weekend!!

Snow arrived yesterday and it's cold too now, winter is around the corner. Not my favorite season at all.

I haven't plan anything this weekend, except that my friend is having a Halloween party tomorrow where I go to.

Have a fun weekend and take good care of you. Stay safe!!

Neesy I made you a new biologically correct cartoon spider for your pumpkin. His name is Moe and I hope ya’ll can be friends.
Hi Wayoftheredpanda - I think I figured it out - those two things hanging down in my stencil are actually legs, not mandibles:

Check it out:

It's just a stencil you can use to help you carve your Halloween jackolantern better - it's not supposed to look anatomically correct! (For those who weren't in on it, this is a continuation of a conversation from the Weekend Playground) :biggrin2::hmm:

Happy Monday to everyone!

I have to log off - I have a doctor's appointment this morning

:howdy:

It's been a busy morning for me - got up early to go to a doctor's appointment, then did some grocery shopping, and put some chicken pieces in a roast pan with onions, carrots and potatoes.

Checked out a free exhibit at the Gwen Sector Creative Living Centre (I think that is what it's called) - it was on Main St. on my way home.

It's only about 1 km from where I live and I've been thinking of checking it out, so I popped in there to get some information, plus I put my name down as a volunteer to drive seniors to appointments. They said they would call me, as they are always looking for drivers.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

I am a little bummed today. My preschool has had some major staffing issues, and last week our toddler teacher gave notice. It’s down to the director and myself and she made the decision to close the school. She is losing money due to the fact that we had to close the infant room last month and can’t pay the mortgage on the house that the school is in. We will close the day before Thanksgiving. My heart hurts because Alex gets so confused and upset when change happens. Also, I have to decide if I should collect unemployment and do the online teaching for a month or two, thus giving myself a chance to get some writing done, or get another job lined up right away.
I’ve got two interviews set up this week, but one is in Mass so it will require another background check (which have proved a problematic but not insurmountable issue).
There’s also the fact that I have no idea how a new childcare center will handle Alex having to attend. I mean I’ve had it great with an employer who pays me a certain amount on the books so I qualify for Medicaid and childcare assistance, but who else is going to do that?
The other option is to renew my teaching license and go through the physical and emotional hurdles of trying to revive a career I destroyed.
I mean I didn’t quite finish my Master’s or I could have an easier time teaching writing or literature at a community college.....
Okay, so that’s my little scary challenge right now. Thanks for reading. Sometimes just writing things down makes them clearer. I can’t think of a better place to share.
