Well, deactivating my Facebook helped. And alot of Oxycontin.
I really need to be on FB because that's where my kids are.

Some people love it, and I think it's wonderful for them to interact with family and distant friends, but, for me, I started noticing a negative impact on my psyche. I'm glad your experience is better, though.I really need to be on FB because that's where my kids are.
There was a documentary on TV recently about Facebook - they allow an awful lot of stuff to be posted that shouldn't be allowed - it seemed unethical and their main reason to exist is to make money. But you always get very interesting "Friends" suggestions there, like stormy nicky or hard bo...ozed dakota.
I had an Account there for 2 Months or so....never ever again
Kids, stay away from Facebook
A few years ago my son in Edmonton convinced me to join but I have to say I am not on there much - I did meet a few people this summer who are on Facebook so it's nice to keep in touch with them.I really need to be on FB because that's where my kids are.

Not until middle of 2020......

Wow! That is pretty cool!My son is military so we have been all over the world following him and he sometimes posts sights that are interesting or he sometimes makes a music video with his guitar.
....exactly darlin' and it, as I've said before, was a true pleasure to meet you....I joined this board January 2009 yes next month it became 10 years since I joined and have found so many good friends here during these years. It was
great to meet many of you during the Kon July 2013 in Maine. And we have one thing in common King and his books. These last years I haven't been around much (life keeps me busy) but I'll try to stop by every now and then, we I find some time.
....it has been an honor to be your friend......I feel like a newbie here compared to most of you, but it's been wonderful the way you welcomed me in from the start.
I haven't been on lately, or at least not much. As some of you know, my business took on a traveling flavor last year which turned out to be exciting, to have a restarted career coming up to my Medicare year (that's 65, for you non-Yanks) and which was profitable to boot. In fact, I'm finishing the best year, economically, of my life.
Comes at a price, though, and part of that price is losing some level of connection with people I care about. Like you guys.
I'm on Facebook. It's a professional resource for me. Lots of help and social groups for people in my profession (court reporting). And in my profession, when we work we're necessarily almost always exclusive from one another, so having interaction is great.
It's fine. Too much crap on the newsfeed, so I ignore that, largely. I focus on the professional groups and a couple others, spout out my supposedly spout-worthy stuff from time to time, and people seem to like it. So as long as all that works for me, I'll continue to use it.
I'm at facebook.com/jason.meadors which, coincidentally enough, contains my actual name. If you send a friend request, please include a message that you're from SKMB. I accept other reporters automatically, but I squint suspiciously at everyone else, particularly requests from the young nubile females who I'm sure are enchanted with wanting to be my friend, but I suspect something else is going on.
And I'm happy to share contact information, although if someone wants to find me, "Jason Meadors, court reporter, Colorado" limits the possibilities in this big ol' wide world to exactly one.
You guys have provided love, entertainment, information, food for thought, different perspectives, and friendship. I'll be sad when this comes to an end. But things change. It's the way of it.
