Yeah, I haven't flown with them in about a decade because that's the sort of thing that always what happens to me when I fly with them. I never choose them on purpose but sometimes they wind up being the only option. The worst experience I had was when they diverted a flight I was on to Reno during a snowstorm (we were flying to LAX and there was some sort of problem there) and all flights in and out of Reno wound up grounded due to weather. Why would they have diverted to a city in the middle of a snowstorm??!!! I was stuck there overnight with two toddlers on my own. After fighting with them for several hours, they put me up in a hotel but with only enough time for us to get 3 hours of sleep before we had to be back at the airport for our 6 am flight but then that flight wound up canceled too so we were in the airport with almost no sleep for 6 hours until we could get another flight out. If you haven't been to the Reno airport, it's full of slot machines that look like SO MUCH FUN to toddlers! You know who isn't allowed to touch them though? Toddlers. It was the most exhausting day I've ever had in my life. That was in the late 90s. I've only flown with them a few times since but every single time has been riddled with problems. I've literally never had a single good flight experience with them.
Living in the Northwest I always try to fly on Alaska Airlines. Never had any problems with them and I like their menu options. ;-D

I used to prefer Alaska but they've been going downhill recently and Delta (who I used to LOATHE) has improved dramatically in terms of service, comfort, and meals (they include meals for free on many legs now) so we use them more often now. The Delta Comfort class is basically the same as first class on Alaska and much cheaper. Delta's first class is like a whole different world (not one that I can routinely afford, of course). Also, with our AmEx platinum card, we get access to the Delta lounges when we're flying Delta even if we're flying coach which is great for cities that don't have AmEx lounges. Traveling is SO MUCH NICER when you can start your trip relaxing in the lounge with free booze. We still fly Alaska every now and again as they are a solid second choice. They don't do the Seattle to Bangor route though. Delta does but just had terrible flight times for us.

Hey folks. Shirt update. Here's what we've got. I hope it's okay.
The shirts look like this on the front:
2_350x350_Front_Color-White.png
6_350x350_Front_Color-White.png

There are also tank tops available:
335_350x350_Front_Color-White.png
114_350x350_Front_Color-NA.png

And you've got a choice between a color design or a black and white one on the back.
2_350x350_Back_Color-White.png
6_350x350_Back_Color-White.png

And there are designs for kids and babies too.

136_350x350_Front_Color-BlackWhite.png

It wasn't really feasible to include a design on the sleeve, so we've got this design that Konners can iron transfer onto the sleeve of their shirts if they choose. Or anywhere they want to put it, I guess. Here's what it looks like:
112615763_225x225.png

I got a little slap-happy and put the Kon logo and designs on some other stuff, like mugs, pillows, hats, etc.

They ship anywhere, so no matter where you are, you can get a 2018 Kon shirt. Or mug. Or whatever.
I don't know why, but the search feature doesn't really work, so clicky on the piccies.
;-D
Enjoy.

Look for motels located on Odlin Road. There are several to choose from and they're within 5 minutes of the airport.
Oh, thanks! I did book a place yesterday that says it is 1.7 miles away from the airport. It's on Cleveland St. It's a fairly well reviewed little locally owned motel so I feel pretty good about it.

The Pine Tree Inn. I guess it was closed for renovations for a while and reopened last year (based on my internet research) so that's probably why you aren't familiar with it.
It's also off the beaten path. It's adjacent to the community college campus and on a road that has been developed for commercial use in the past few years so unless you were specifically going to that area, you wouldn't see it from the main street for traffic there. The pictures look like it should be an okay place to stay and definitely convenient to the airport.

Convenient to the airport really is the key with that super early flight. I'm pleased to have found a little local place too though, even though it doesn't look like much. :)

Thanks for the tip on the Pine Tree Inn - looks like at one time it was a military base?
I don't know but it definitely has that base housing look to it, doesn't it? It's only $90 per night if you book through Hotels.com right now. I usually prefer to book directly (which is $100) but I decided to risk it.

That entire area was at one time Dow Air Force Base.

As long as it's clean and no bed bugs, my feeling is I can put up with anything for one night when it comes to weighing price to amenities and proximity to the airport if I'm flying. :smile2:
