Power went out here Saturday so we decided to watch Needful Things. We love Max Von Sydow and his Gaunt is perfection.

One of the best 80’s movies imho sir. Jamie Gertz, Andrew Mccarthy, Downey Jr, all did great and the first time I saw the movie I was NOT expecting that ending...Tonight, I searched for 80s movies on Netflix and found one I'd never seen, Less Than Zero. I found it very moving and that ending was hard to watch. I've since learned that many critics panned it at the time, including Ellis who wrote the novel on which it's based. I think this may be one of Downey's best movies, though. I liked it.
How had I never seen it? Weird. It was a great film, it took me by surprise too, LOL...that ending...this was me:One of the best 80’s movies imho sir. Jamie Gertz, Andrew Mccarthy, Downey Jr, all did great and the first time I saw the movie I was NOT expecting that ending...
They made a 26-hour TV series narrated by Olivier on WWII. Fair enough. Jackson did similar with LOTR. Then he did the same thing about, not so much WWII, more a punch up in a pub car park.I think the problem with this adaptation is that the source material is only slightly over 300 pages. It just doesn't call for three movies each over two hours long. There's a lot of padding in there.

It is a movie that's aged well, too. It felt authentic. (I just now noticed I should have put an apostrophe before 80s.)Robert is so good in this movie. It is hard to watch.

Andrew McCarthy. Yeah, I agree with you. He was good in this flick, though. Maybe the character was suited for him? Dunno. The lead kid -- what's the actor's name? I couldn't stand him back in the day, I thought he was a terrible actor. As an older actor, I really like him. He was great in Kingdom Hospital.

Although Weekend at Bernie's was pretty good.
Andrew McCarthy...he and I share a birthday so I'm thinking he probably thinks it's pretty cool that he has the same birthday as me.....The lead kid -- what's the actor's name? I liked the move St. Elmo's Fire he was in with the rest of the 80's "Brat Pack". His character was the strangest one out of all of them. The lead kid -- what's the actor's name?
