I'm about to start reading the new Pet Sematary book I bought last week. I remember reading that book back when it came out in the 80's. It's amazing how you can remember a time and the 'feel' of that time. I generally think that the 80's were a better time to live than today. I don't think I'm looking back with rose coloured glasses. I think th advent of electronic personal devices has warped society.

Well - at least they are all gathered around the table together - (someone just needs to unplug the WiFi) :cell:

This makes me very sad. Glimmer Train has been a fantastic publication. I've subscribed on and off over the years and read some really unique voices. These sisters dedicated themselves to giving people a chance. While other publications have their submissions schedules and anyone can submit, Glimmer Train felt more writer friendly. They appeared genuinely energetic about finding good writing, no matter who it was or where it came from or what their background.

And the covers were beautiful and I have a ton of their bookmarks!

 Not exactly. Similar weight but not a solid pace of heavy. There are tiny glass or poly beads sown into square pockets, so it conforms to your body.
Mine looks like this:

What is your verdict on this weighted blanket?

Does anyone have a really great mattress topper? We have a fantastic mattress. Very expensive. Still in great shape. BUT, I am not in great shape and the firmness no longer agrees with my lack of shape.

I am hoping maybe a mattress topper will help and any comments are welcome. I already have egg crate crap on the bed and while it helps some, it's not ideal.

...given my crap ass back, I would suggest an air mattress, it’s just like one of those blow up dolls, errrr uh things you can use for unexpected company, only it comes with an electric pump that has an automatic firmness setting...my Pop was very pleased when I got him one for his sore old tailbone....

I have cats. I'm worried they would puncture it and I would go sailing into the wild blue yonder...or at the very least, face first into the ceiling fan.

...aside from the fact that I would pay money to see that, as long as you have a blanket over it...the felines won’t wreak havoc on your delicate physiology.... my dad’s kitties never caused any issues....one did put a hole in his catheter bag thinking apparently it was some kind of funky hangy downy liquid filled toy....I laughed, couldn’t help it....

Weighted blanket is awesome! However, it can be warm, so we are setting the fan higher and turning temp lower as the nights are warming up. I'll see how I do during the summer. But for falling asleep it is divine! I just sometimes kick it off mid-night. I keep wanting to try one of those gel-foam mattresses, but they are kinda pricey. If you find a good topper (or take a chance on the air mattress at risk of cat-apulting) please do let us know!
