I am suffering from that weird feeling you get when you are closing in on the end of an epic story, I want to read it quickly to know how it all pans out, but at the same time I don't want it to end. This may be one of the worst book hangovers I'll have had in a while...

Well, my first taste of McCammon (They Thirst, Wolfs Hour) left a good inpression and since so many spoken good things of his more historical Matthew Corbett books I fell for the temptation and ordered Speaks The Nightbird and Queen of Bedlam. And i have still Swan Song and Boys Life in my TBR-list. They lie in a pile on my bedtable.

Swan Song is interesting so far. Definitely hints of The Stand here (lol). McCammon is an interesting writer: They Thirst was very plot driven--characters were almost an after thought, just there to move the plot along. Speaks the Nightbird was also plot driven, but the characters were a bit more clearly defined. Swan Song, so far, is very character driven--they are fully fleshed individuals that could be put into any situation and stay interesting. Not many writers change up their styles as much as McCammon does.

Interesting. Agree about They Thirst. But it somehow makes me more curious about his other books. Wolfs Hour was a really strong central character, the werewolf of the title, compared to the not so strong characters in They Thirst.

I know that feeling . . .leaves you feeling as if you won't be able to replace the characters that you just left behind . . .like a fear, right? But then again you miss the really good characters so much until you don't ever want another to be capable of replacing them . . .

Aw, carp crap . . .I'm trippin' . . .

I am a Reader . . .Constant.
