Found this moth on our back deck. So pretty! And then pictures of West Tensleep Lake. Beautiful and huge. Scott walked and walked, fishing. No luck there, though, it is shallow and pretty much need to be out in the middle in a kayak to fish successfully. Be still my heart. This area reminds me a lot of Montana, the Gallatin River near Bozeman. Heavenly woodland with wildlife and rapid streams. Wyoming is a time capsule.

That's a huge moth! I spotted a luna moth last weekend, it was on a bag of potting soil on the deck.

I have never seen one like it! Alison came running in screaming we had a bat on the deck. Scott went to look and it was this moth. ;-D Scott's aunt said it was called a hummingbird moth. I don't know if that is correct or not, but it did flap its wings very rapidly, like a hummingbird.

We put it back outside and it was on our front door the next day.

Here are some pics from last week's trip. This is the same creek that feeds the falls we went to last time, but we dropped down next to it so Scott could fish it. Had a visitor in our camp ground, and the bent tree I just thought was neat. View attachment 32119View attachment 32120View attachment 32121View attachment 32122

Okay. I was throwing a dance party thinking I saw a hummingbird. I was telling everyone in the house, come look! We have a hummingbird. Because yes! Those wings were moving rapid fire.

Everyone comes outside to look and we're getting as close to it as possible and then my husband said, "that's a damn moth.' I'm swearing it's a hummingbird -- don't kill my buzz, azzhole! And he's looking at me shaking his head and said, "Look closer. It has antennae. Birds don't have antennae."

swallow, gulp

It had antennae.

Here are a few pics of our damage from the storm the other night.

Holes in the siding. Not all of them but the worst ones. There are lots of spots that cracked in a line like a fracture, too.

New maple tree, bare now

20190826_162709_resized_1.jpg
My poor plum tree! And the neighbor's fence down behind it.

20190826_162609_resized_1.jpg
Aspen, it was sooo full of leaves before

20190826_162704_resized_1.jpg
Shredded flowers, blew the light out, can see parts of the cedar bushes laying there too.

Blasted door facing and deck. The difference in color on the deck is all because of hail blasting it.

This one is not mine but it is the Jeep that the storm took for a joyride. The Dodge dealership is the one up the hill to the right. That is where it came from.

Yikes! Glad to hear it was property damage and not people damage for you.
