Is the US the only place that celebrates thanksgiving? I would assume that they probably celebrate it in some places in Canada.

Canadian Thanksgiving was in October I think.

Yes - we had our Thanksgiving on October 14th (right after a huge snowstorm that took out many trees in our city)

Currently at war with my brother so I'm not sure if he will "pop" in. If he does, I may pop him back out. Mom will cross the picket lines to see the grand kids and that's fine. Other options include finding a seating at a restaurant someplace or having the local supermarket make everything and doing a pick up.
Not meaning to meddle, but if at all possible, please mend the fences with your brother. Mine was killed in a car accident 21 years ago, and I'd give my right arm to be able to talk to him again.

Yeah, she used chicken livers. But it looked more like mush.

Nobody in the family is even willing to try making it because we all remember it took her several hours of prep work... and she bitched about making it the entire time. :)
My Mom's dressing looks like that. I never ask her what she puts in it, but I know there are chicken livers, and the turkey giblets, probably a heart of some sort.

Do you celebrate Thanksgiving in Sweden?
Nope!! We have All Hallows Eve which a more solemn equivalent to Halloween but no thanksgiving. But we have Gustav Adolfs Day! In Remembrance of the Swedish Warrior King Gustav II Adolf who went down fighting in 1632 in the 30-years war we eat a special bakery. It can have different ingredients but his picture should be on it. He died the 6,th of November.

Great thanks to your nation as well, Kubren. The Swedish taught us Scots much in the thirty years war, gave us the skills needed to throw the English out during the civil war, and deal with other Scots who were faithful to England. DU GALMA DU FRIA! ALBA GU BRATH!
