So - last post - it is now after 2:30! (The shoe place is on the way to work and conveniently located close to the hospital).

I bought some SAS shoes in black leather but they are quite loose today (maybe yesterday my feet were swollen?) so I am going back now to exchange them.

I must say that they are quite comfortable (apart from the fact that they seem loose).

Shoot! I really have to go now - my son Josh is not taking too well to the shift work and lately has been hanging out at the mall, skipping his supper and not going to bed on time.

I tried to talk with him about it but I know right now he is emotionally upset over the recent break-up.

At the rate things are going I hope to be able to work until May 1st at least as apparently after that date I can get an unreduced pension from HEB Manitoba (Health Employment Benefits).

There are so many things I want to do around the house and hopefully if I figure out all my options, with combined pensions etc. maybe I can swing it!

Hey guys. I'm sure you've heard of the I-85 burning bridge collapse here in Atlanta. It's amazing that no one was hurt, or so it's believed at this time. It's going to be crazy here for a few months and maybe even for a year. I live a good ways a way but I know that rerouting will bring more traffic to my area. We'll just have to deal with it and I think we'll be fine. I've also heard that there were homeless people that live in that area under bridge. That concerns me. Take care all.

Thoughts and prayers for all who will deal with this situation today and in the future. Be safe MadamMack . Drivers who are unfamiliar with new routes often cause accidents. May any homeless who were under the bridge be safe.

I was floored to see the footage, and even more so that there were no injuries. Amazing!

You're right that it's going to be a nightmare. Folks on the local news were warning families to re-think or re-route their travel plans for Spring Break which is soon. This is going to seriously affect so many people, businesses, etc on the East Coast. Hoping your impact is less than expected.

Happy Friday to all!!! (((SKMB)))

My kitty wasn't feeling well recently but has started eating and like and acting herself today. I think maybe she ate a bad lizard. I find their partially eaten, dried out corpses under furniture regularly.

No matter where you live, you could have blue-tailed lizards and skinks in the neighborhood. They’re poisonous to predators, and if your kitty bites or eats one, she’ll probably have a reaction to the toxins in their skin. You might notice her vomiting, drooling, staggering around and running a slight fever. She also could act agitated and refuse to eat. Newts and salamanders cause similar symptoms, along with diarrhea and even paralysis. Thoroughly rinse your kitty’s mouth with water to make sure all the toxins are gone and take her to the vet immediately.

Lizards and Parasites
Geckos, skinks and toads carry parasites called liver flukes that are potentially deadly for cats. They don’t harm the lizards in whose bodies they reside, but when your cat friend snacks on an affected lizard, that parasite can move into her bile duct and cause a potentially fatal inflammation. Liver flukes can also block the bile duct so bile is not released, which leads up to a bile buildup in her liver. The bile becomes toxic. If your little girl eats a lizard and a parasite does get lodged in her bile duct, her eyes will have a yellow tinge and you will see that, under her fur, her skin is yellow. She will also lose her appetite, become lethargic and experience tenderness and swelling in her abdomen. The eggs from lizard flukes will be visible in your cat’s poop after about 12 weeks. Once a definite diagnosis is made by a vet, your little girl will have to take Droncit for three to five days. Panacur is also effective, but must be given to your kitty twice a day for five days. Prednisone may be necessary if she develops a liver inflammation. Liver flukes are most commonly found in Florida, the Caribbean and the Hawaiian islands. If you live in one of these areas, you’ll have to train your precious girl to become an indoor-dwelling kitty. The liver fluke is the only potentially dangerous parasite that comes from lizards and geckos.

Well maybe I'll take her in and have her checked. She seems OK now. Nothing was severe as listed there...
