The characters SK has introduced us to so far have been incredibly diverse. I'm enjoying the back stories and getting to know what makes them tick. It will make it even more interesting to read about who steps up and who unravels.

In real life, there are natural leaders (Brian and Nick) but also unlikely leaders (Dinah). SK is so spot-on with the way he captures reality in supernatural settings.
Speaking of that i thought the story didn't work so well as a movie. The langoliers never got real enough in the movie. Probably because it is such a farfetched concept that that realuity feeling that is in the book doesn't transform so well to movie.
I believe I read this eons ago - so it's as if I'm reading it for the first time! There are some flashes of recollection, but I don't remember what happens.

Probably because what an individual imagines as a Langolier can't be replicated.
I do too. I'm excited to witness what happens to his character and how much this sheltered seventeen-year-old boy will have to mature throughout the story.
