Ash vs. Evil Dead (Season 2)

I felt this season was even better than the first. There's so much happening in this season and it goes to many different locations. It mainly takes place in Ash's hometown and we get to meet his father, Brock (played by Six Million Dollar Man Lee Majors), who's every bit as wonderful and charming as his son. There's so many highlights in this - Ash's car gets possessed in an episode - and as gross as it gets (and it goes very far at times), just like in the original films the gore is always wonderfully imaginative.
A major highlight for every true Evil Dead fan is seeing Ellen Sandweiss back in her role as Ash's sister Cheryl. She still looks great, but they were very young when they made the original I think. It would be great if the other three actors from the original made an appearance at some time too.
And just like the first season it all ends up in that magical cabin in the woods again.

What's amazing (especially after so much time has passed) is how it manages to get the tone of the original movies right and constantly harkens back to them in a fan-pleasing manner, while also managing to add enough fresh (well, relatively fresh considering the genre) ideas and explore new ground.

I watched The End Of The F***ing World on netflix.

This show is excellent. There are 8 episodes that are approximately 25 minutes each so it doesn't take too long to get through it. This is kind of a dark, funny and twisted English teenage version of Bonnie and Clyde.
I'm about 3 episodes in and it's great!
You know... I did say out loud to myself though, "...aren't you getting worried about how little a reaction you seem to have to horrific things now days?" I nodded in response.

Did you notice that James (Alex Lawther) is the same actor as the Black Mirror episode I posted about earlier? I actually found the Black Mirror episode after I watched End of The F***ing World and was so impressed that I googled him to find other movies or shows he is in.

No, I didn't realise that! I think because it's been a while since I saw the Black Mirror episode, but yes you're absolutely right! He's really good, isn't he?

I watched some of 'Under Siege 2' with Seagal, but I couldn't finish the whole movie because it started to get too stupid. Also, 'The Game' with Micheal Douglas, I started laughting halfway into this movie because it was like a comedy, I also couldn't finish this movie, I'll look at it later, it might turn out alright. Also the movie 'Red Planet' with Val Kilmer and Tom Sizemore, not bad, but got weaker towards the end. I like the robot dog-thing in the movie.

Neesy asked me tonight if I was sensitive... yes! Yes I am! Ugh, I can't handle things like that with animals. :O_O:

I'm the same way. I can watch a human get hacked up but can't take it when a dog dies.

Same here! In fact it's probably a little obscene how much I wish impending bad music in a film to be about a human rather than the animal sitting just about off camera.
As soon as I see an animal in a scene, my hands are on standby... heading straight to my face.

Finished Godless (Good show. Jeff Daniels is amazing in a very strong cast), and am now 3 eps into the latest series of Black Mirror. I'm also watching Pushing Daisies for the first time on CW Seed (a Roku channel). What a weird and wonderful show! Reminds me of both Dead Like Me and iZombie--a sort of mash up. Wish I'd seen it when it was current, but glad to catch it now.

I started watching Godless and have seen the first 3 episodes and can't wait to see the rest. I didn't really pay any attention to who was in it when I started watching and it took me an entire episode to realize that Frank was Jeff Daniels. ;-D

Did you catch the Jack Ketchum name drop in Godless? I forget what character mentioned his name but they were talking about a train robber named Jack Ketchum.

Finished Big Little Lies and started Manhunt:Unabomber. It's okay so far. I can see where it was compared to Mindhunter, but I think it's possibly a better show--the main character is certainly a better actor. I've heard that it was picked up for a second season, and I'm curious where they're going to go with it, since the series I'm not watching ends with the Unabomber on trial. Can't think of what can possibly come after that is of interest. Maybe a different manhunt? Not sure.

My girl, Tiffany, is playing on Australia's "I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here" (which is oddly taking place in South Africa). She's not Australian (from California/ living in Nashville) but they usually have a token American, I guess, and she's that this year. I would never have watched it without Tiff (I don't even know who any of the other people are) but I'm just loving it. So much fun. It's not too late to get get in on the action as a fan has been posting the full episodes to Youtube. You can watch them here:
