She brought home the order form for pictures yesterday, they are doing that Friday. I said, I'm going to order me and Dad buttons so we can wear them at your meets....she was mortified at that idea!!
I said, that's what sports parents do!!

She was not on board with that so much.

You could tell her you plan on getting T shirts printed with her picture-- maybe then the button will be acceptable?

I just did a free online DISC test and they say I am:

Not sure if the test was a valid one or not

my Ogre got me a lobstrosity for our fish tank - he came via FedEx today - tiny little guy. He seems to be dead. We put him in the tank around 6pm and he still hasn't moved - but he's not floating, so there's hope! I hope he makes it. I'll name him Roland if he does, Wimpy if he doesn't.

In the winter, I tip all my pots and cement containers on their sides and cover them. One of the numbnutzes who lived in my house at the time thought my bird bath fell over and stood it back up. By the time I went out there and discovered this, water got in it and froze, expanded, and the bowl was amputated from its base.

Is there a way for me to "glue" the pieces back together? I know it probably won't hold water anymore, but I would like it intact. It's pretty and my mom gave it to me.

I would go for an outdoor epoxy glue that cures in 5 minutes. It consists of two tubes of liquids that you need to mix together. It will give you the strongest bond. Then use some aquarium silicone on the crack seams and it will hold water. About three years ago I forgot I had my tractor set to max speed and when I let off the brake I took out one of the wife’s favorite planter pots. Thing broke into about 6 pieces (You’d think I had broken a Ming dynasty vase). She demanded I put it back together and I used the epoxy glue. It has held together just fine (and they're left out all winter), but she now hates it because she knows it was broken and can see the cracks... and said she’s getting new pots this year.

FYI... Lowes is having their Spring Black Friday Sale event this week (I think it starts Wednesday) and there will be outstanding savings. I heard rumor you'll be able to get their best quality mulch of 5 bags for $10. If you need garden tools look for the True Value brand, if any are left. They're half off right now as they transition away from other brands into the Craftsman brand. There will also be a great deal on one of their gas grills.

Planning a trip to Washington, DC for a couple days next week. Youngest needs to attend an overnight showcase program for students admitted into the university’s honors or scholars programs. So we’ll get to meet future senators, representatives, royalty, heads of state, ministers, ambassadors, diplomats, lawyers and journalists that will someday shape the world (according to the university, anyway, and notable alumni)… as they begin their journey. I’m guessing they’ll all be a pretentious lot. I probably shouldn’t wear mom jeans and my ‘Forged In Fire’ T-shirt.

There is no good or bad in these tests, They just illustrate personality traits and how people behave in certain situations. Everyone has a some degree of each type in them

I've taken this multiple times over my career in the different organizations I have worked in. I consistently land in the "C" category. I can also adapt and go into "D" mode if no one takes initiative ro make a decision. This makes sense since I have primarily worked in the Financial industry. Most folks in that line of work are "S" or "C".

The idea is to understand how you like to be interacted with and how to adjust your communication style when working with others that are in a different category. It's supposed to foster better teamwork.

You could get very Machiavellian with it and use the information about others to manipulate them into doing what you want them to do. Not that I would ever do that........

I took the free test online and it said that my answers were too evenly distributed, which is extremely rare and suggested I take it again and answer more impulsively
