I watched from the beginning. It was on YouTube, maybe still is. The episodes are short, but after a while I lost interest - it is very simply made on small sets and it seemed to endlessly circle around things but never get to the point.
The show was very popular at the time though in the US - it was not ever released outside the US, or at least not widely, so it remained unknown mostly in Europe until the Tim Burton film.
What I understand about it (but American users of the board will probably know this better) is that it became only truly popular once Barnabas entered, who is not in it from the beginning - so it may be a case of just sticking with it. I don't think all episodes are on YouTube though, although YouTube content is constantly changing of course.

The revival I liked a lot though.

I used to have a few episodes on tape, and a couple of compilations of different scenes. I watched a few full episodes through Hulu when you could still watch videdo through their website on a free account. But your account of what made Dark Shadows popular sounds right with what's been said about the show. I personally found Barnabas more likeable at first on the revival than the original. He seemed more evil in the original series at first.

If you paid more to have it delivered 'next day' then ask for a refund on the shipping charges.

I think the weather going on in California has something to do with it. I know the weather is beyond anyone's control. It's last known position was Ontario, CA at 2:48 this morning.

Checked my bank balance earlier and the money for HMV is still pending. They won't take it til the dvd is ready to ship so still a waiting game...

Amazon is about the same way, they never take the money out till it's delievered.

I didn't think about the weather situation. It definitely is making things hard. Where I live we are supposed to get between 4-6 inches of snow in the next two days.

Not at all. I buy most of my books online these days and once I know they've been shipped I don't have much patience while waiting for them to arrive.

I've never had too many problems with Amazon, this is the 2nd time a package of mine has been delayed. It was for the same reason, weather. I don't fault anyone for weather conditions. Incompetence is another issue. This happened to me more than once with walmart.com. I ordered 2 games from them, one it took them darn near a month to get it to me. The other one, my father ordered for me overnight since our local store didn't carry the game that day. It took them 6 days to send me a game, he ordered overnight.

I haven't used Amazon in a long time but never had a problem with them. Walmart.com sounds like a pain in the #ss.

They were, I personally haven't used it in years. My dad did purchase a new tv from them, and they actually delivered it before it it was supposed to be. I still prefer to use Amazon, they are who I will order Locke and Key from when I can get the set.

That was pretty nice of him - you're lucky to have such a generous friend (did you get mostly paperbacks or were there some hardcovers too?)
I got a hardcover of 'It' in the group.

also I got hardback copy of Pet Sematary, I gave the guy $150. He had a paperback version of Carrie which I hadn't seen the cover of before.

Last Friday night I bought 'IT' Chapter 1. I also found one of those 4-pack dealies for $10 which had 'The Dead Zone','Pet Sematary','Silver Bullet', and 'Graveyard Shift'. I've watched 'Pet Sematary' so far and noticed that the 'Cleaner' on 'The Blacklist' (a TV Show) was the cleaner for the Creeds. I don't know her name but called her 'Tall Hettie' which is a reference to another TV Show 'NCIS L.A.'. I watch too much T.V.
