I DID get an advance proof of SP's The Shining, so I'm not completely without a clue as to what the book actually looks like, but I really like the looks of the gift edition.

Good for you, John! See, you are becoming the King completist- my evil plan has begun to work.....hahaha!I was able to get a copy of Subterranean Press' gift edition of The Shining for just a smidge over the retail price. I should have it the beginning of the week. I do have the signed limited version coming whenever it finally gets published.

The pattern that's on the slipcase is what the artist used for the carpeting in his illustrations. Magnificent artwork! I am running out of room for my SK books Time to buy a bigger house!!!
A buncha Chricton! Sphere's my favorite. My respect for you just went to a new level when I saw Michael Crichton on your shelf.
I love his books! He makes you understand things without making you feel like he's talking down to you. I've learned alot from reading his novels. I learned alot about him from reading Travels. I am saddened that he cannot write anymore books. My respect for you just went to a new level when I saw Michael Crichton on your shelf.
Not a bad choice. My favorite will always be The Great Train Robbery- it was the first book of his I ever read- way back in the '70's when the paperback had the 'gate-fold' cover. He took me to another time and place and made it all come to life for me, a child of 15 or 16. Prey is my second favorite- a terrifying glimpse into what just might come to pass if scientists doesn't realize the fatal potentials of what they are now playing around with.A buncha Chricton! Sphere's my favorite.
