A Clockwork Orange.
Having read the book, I knew sorta what to expect. It was very well made, and kept me interested the whole way through.
From the did you know department: The movie was reasonably faithful to the book except for the ending. I found out while watching one of the special features on the blu-ray that the reason for that is that Stanley Kubrick had a version of the novel where the last chapter had been removed. He had actually never read the real last chapter when he made the movie. The book was very controversial when it was released and was censored in various releases. Kubrick happened to unknowingly read a censored version.
Gone Girl - Rosamund Pike brilliant as vanished US wife in excellent mystery thriller
Awesome! Seeing this tonight. Can't wait!
I also saw it and also read the book. I thought both were good . But the movie was lonnnnnngggg.Saw Gone Girl last night. It was terrific. And I liked it better than the book! Flynn herself wrote the screenplay, so it was faithful to the book, but Fincher just elevates the story even more on screen. Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike give great performance, especially Pike. She was perfect as Amy. Overall, an intense and dark thriller that pulls you in until the end.

I will never forgive the Reagan administration for sticking their heads in the sand when the AIDS epidemic started back in the '80's. If only they had acted sooner....Dallas Buyers Club. This is the best movie I've seen in years. Matthew McConaughey is perfect in it, and I've never before seen a performance to match Jared Leto's. It's an important movie, imho, because it deals with the arguable reality of political corruption between pharmaceutical companies and the Federal Government which interferes with sick people, especially AIDS victims.
Dostoyevsky's Crime And Punishment is one of my favorite novels. I'll definitely look into The Double-thanks!Watched The Double.
A clerk in a government agency finds his unenviable life takes a turn for the horrific with the arrival of a new co-worker who is both his exact physical double and his opposite - confident, charismatic and seductive with women.
Fascinating. I enjoyed it very much. After I watching it I went to research it. The movie was based on on the novella The Double by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. ( I had the feeling I had seen or read it before.)
I must say, Jesse Eisenberg did a magnificent job of playing both parts. Kudos.
Peace.
I kind off figured this after being inundated with TV commercials for it! Every freaking 5 minutes it was on!Dolphin Tale 2 - engaging but unsurprising family film sequel.
The Rewrite - pleasant Hugh Grant light comedy/drama/romance.
Dracula Untold - Dracula rewritten as heroic family man. A bit of a misfire.
