I hear ya. I just go thru life quietly now that I've realized it's the world moving on, dragging me with it. When it comes to texing while your driving, I would have a hard time sleeping at night knowing I'd caused an injury accident. It's not just teenagers or anything, it's everyone. At stoplights, it looks like driving is the last thing on everyone's mind. I feel like an alien because I'm watching all the vehicles around me, trying to see who's not going to turn when they're supposed to, who's sitting with their blinker light on but not actually turning because they're texting, or who's screaming at someone on the phone while 10 cars wait behind them for them to get with the program. It's weird how the most dangerous thing most of us do on a daily basis has become just an afterthought. I guess they need to get those autopilot vehicles into production so everyone can just tune out and get back to their text or talk conversations which take precedent over the fact you're responsible for driving.

Wow, this sounds exactly like me. I can't believe the number of people who are still using the cell while driving even after the laws were put into place and all the deaths and injuries they have caused. Sickens and pisses me off to no end....

Puffin a Drew Estate Java Stogie, sipping my pinot grig, feeling like fifty bucks. I could get into these high end seegars. All I need, another vice.

I love, I love, I love my calendar girl...

That is a good cigar. I had an actual Cuban cigar a few years ago a friend who did business there was able to "mail" a box back to his home address here in the States. I've smoked some good cigars, but the actual Cuban one put them all to shame. It was very short but was the smoothest, best tasting tobacco my lungs have ever been subjected to.

Always wanted to try one of them Cubans. And try some good old, old French wine. Older I get, more I appreciate that stuff.

Defensive driving has become a way of life. Cell phone have their place/ not being actively used in a car while "attempting to drive". I no longer enjoy driving. Luckily, I am in the category of not needing to drive to work each day. I almost rather order on line than drive to a store, but it is a necessity. I'll take back roads when available. And you all can laugh, I refuse to make a left turn unless I have an arrow light. That may mean going out of my way on occasion, but FL drivers are pure nuts. *** exception Fljoe and Hoss. Last Thursday on my feed run I saw a lady, while texting, run right into a pile of mulch stacked in a parking lot. She has no idea what was in front of her. Thankful, it was mulch , not bodies.

Brilliant. Drivers aren't any better up here. Just this morning I'm behind a guy on the interstate who's driving ditch to ditch across three northbound lanes of interstate at 70mph. You can see how animated he is talking on his phone, cutting back across lanes, overcompensating for his drift. What can you do? It would have been more than enough PC for a stop if a Trooper had been behind him. Amazing......

Karen forgot to cover the pool last night, and apparently some kind of animal got into it!!
She said there was poop outside the pool, and it had lost a lot of water from what looks like being stepped upon on one side, and flattened that side enough so water ran out. I would love to have had a video camera set up to see what did this! I am thinking a deer.
I guess there was a pool party last night out there!!

Can't leave out those who text while walking. Crossing the street and they never look up. But,
sometimes, they use the crosswalk. Lady hit by a car last week in Kelowna while crossing the
street and texting on her phone. Not using the crosswalk either. Legislation now in place for
those walking and texting as well as drivers who text. Fine for drivers emailing, texting or using
other electronic devices is $368.00 in B.C.
Here is the new legislation in Canada: as of June 1, 2016
Repeat offenders will pay the same $368, but will receive escalating penalty points for each offence within 12 months:
  • 2nd offence: $368 + $520 in penalty points = $888
  • 5th offence: $368 + $3760 in penalty points = $4,128
  • 10th offence: $368 + $14,520 in penalty points = $14,888
Repeat offenders will also face an automatic licence review, which could result in a driving prohibition of three to 12 months.

Drivers in the graduated licencing program will have their licences reviewed after a first offence.

Hi there

I just want to apologize for not taking the time to come here lately.

It seems I have been depressed or blue (or something like that) ever since I realized that I could not come to the King Kon this year.

Debbie Debbie913 - I would have come by myself except for the expense. Andy has been working like crazy to pay off our mortgage and of course now we get hit with a big $4000 tax bill!

Guess he forgot that when you pay your mortgage through the bank the taxes comes out automatically every month.

I did splurge a bit and at the moment my friend and his son are building a new deck out back - the old one must have been from the mid 80s I think - the wood was so old and rotten they had no problem dismantling it with crow bars.

Anyway, enough about that for now.

I was on Facebook - trying to clean up my son's account - his fiancee was complaining about all the pics of girls he has on there. Well it is no wonder!

He 'likes' posts about tattoos, rap music, hip hop, muscle cars, WWE etc. I was surprised to see how many "ladies" (I use the term loosely) will post semi-naked pics of themselves. Being a normal red-blooded guy (but without a lot of smarts) he would naturally click on these and either follow them or just like the page.

That is probably another reason I am not feeling so well - going on Facebook is probably bad for your soul (in my opinion) - what a crazy place that is, compared to the SKMB.

Well, rant is over now. I hope all are doing well out there. It is a lovely hot day here with no rain forecast - great deck building weather!
