17.) Dawn of the Dead -- Romero (1978) also a classic, also a rewatch. But i havent actually seen Romero others. Day, Land and Survival of the dead. Might try to fit them in during this month. I like Dawn better than Night actually. It has a little homor thrown in so to speak.... When these bikers throw cakes in the face of the dead..... A little nod to an old comical tradition.

What's this recent obsession with creepy kids in horror flicks? Always some shadowy kid, slightly out of focus, bent into weird contortions and shaking with a bunch of jittery jump-cut shots. Like, every contemporary horror flick pulls this trick. Doesn't scare me, just annoys.

And every horror trailer looks like the rest. I'm asleep already.

#33) The Haunting in Connecticut 2 :The ghosts of Georgia (2013) Watched it on syfy channel earlier today. Don't recall seeing it before. Did not like it as much as the first one, but of course it had a lot of interruptions due to commercials. But it did make me want to see The Haunting of Connecticut 1. I will watch it later tonight. 2.5 out of 5 stars. (watching Exeter right now)

I doubt I'll ever make the quota, so instead, I'll make a few suggestions for the rest of you. Like:

MARTIN (1977) dir. by George Romero.

Sick of all the cutesy Vampire flicks? Try this brutal bloodsucker, from the morbid mind that brought you Dawn of the Dead. It's a GREAT horror flick (if you can get past it's dated look--and you'd BETTER, if you wanna be friends with me). And, this movie marks the first ever collaboration with Romero and gore-God Tom Savini.

More suggestions to follow (once I think of em). Think of this as a public service. You're welcome, kiddies.

10. Insidious Chapter 3 (FTV)
Aspiring actress seeking to connect with her deceased mother awakens a malevolent spirit and seeks the help of a widowed medium. The weakest of the three installments, Insidious 3 is a bit of a slog for the first half or so, offering little by way of people to care about and jump scare after jump scare (after jump scare, after jump scare...you get the idea). What keeps you from giving up on it is the much more compelling story of the psychic (Lin Shaye), who keeps insisting she's never going to do a psychic reading again, even as she keeps on doing exactly that. The ball finally really gets rolling in the last 30 minutes or so, although the origins of the main baddie are left unsatisfyingly unexplained. It would be easy to bash Insidious 3 as a tired sequel's sequel running on fumes, but it ends well enough so it just feels more like near miss.

3 out of 5 stars.

11. The Innocents -- Yep. This is my favorite scary movie ever. And yes, creepy kids. But these are good creepy kids. Black and white. No blood. No gore. No sex. No violence.

I loved it as a kid. I love it as an adult. I think it holds up.
If not for Dead of Night, The Innocents would be my favorite horror movie. I love it.

Hardware looks like it could be good. The mention of House of Wax reminds me that I have to watch that. I believe Price is in that, and any of his movies tend to work for Halloween season. His Dr. Phibes films are great, too (they should remake those, they're sort of like Saw).

Here's my contribution to the marathon. I just recently watched The Final Girls. Very fun film, and I thought it was appropriate for Halloween (although it is more a fantasy film than horror, in a sense; if you see it, you will know what I mean). Good atmosphere, and a surprisingly good story attached to it, one that has a bit of depth. Check out the trailer if you are not familiar (it came out this year, and it features the guy from HBO's Silicon Valley, Thomas Middleditch). Anyone who remembers the TV series Weird Science will note that there was an episode that had the same concept (which is fine, of course, just thought I would mention that since that episode was the first thing I thought of when I saw the trailer for this project). Definitely not a perfect movie, it doesn't have the biggest budget (from what I could tell, although it did have something of a budget, to be certain), but it might be appealing to some.

10) Creep-On fushingfeef 's recommend. There were a couple of places that stretched credibility, but all in all a good movie! (FTV)
11) Walking Dead, season 5, last 2 episodes Counting these one for yesterday because they were an hour and 50 mins long together and yesterday was a killer. :) I still love this show, and can't wait for the new season to start tonight (even though I can't watch it until tomorrow--lol).
