Somehow I cannot picture Alan Alda doing this

(He WAS good in Same Time, Next Year I thought)
Love Same Time, Next Year. And Wait Until Dark was one of my Halloween movies last year, not as scary as I remembered it from my childhood.

36. Taste the Blood of Dracula -- I have never seen this one. Pretty interesting little flick. I love these men who are such Christian guys for the community, and they are such hedonistic, depraved a-holes in private life.

"Three middle-aged distinguished gentlemen are searching for some excitement in their boring bourgeois lives and get in contact with one of Count Dracula's servants, Lord Courtley. In a nightly ceremony, they restore the count to life. However, the three men killed Courtley and, in revenge, the count ensures that the gentlemen are killed one by one by their own children."

26. The Forest (FTV)
A woman searches for her missing twin sister in Japan's notorious "suicide forest" where she was last seen. I was a bit surprised by the pretty much universally low ratings on Rotten Tomatoes for The Forest, I found it to be watchable, the main character to be likable enough, and despite a few annoying jump scares, an effectively creepy film. There's even a bit of psychological horror involved, since the woods have a way of disorienting and making people see things that aren't there, and a family trauma backstory mystery. Sure, it's pretty light on plot and the "white people lost in the woods" concept has been done to death, but for the most part this movie delivers on its premise.

3.5 out of 5 stars.

11. A Fantastic Fear of Everything - Simon Pegg plays a writer who is plagued by extreme paranoia. Pretty decent. Not really a horror flick, but it has a lot of horror movie trappings and a serial killer subplot so I'm counting it in my Halloween movies.

12. The Thing - 1951 - Classic sci-fi flick and one of my all time favorite movies.

I really like The Others. One of the very few modern scares that I felt was intelligent.

Well said, I agree! Did you ever see the Skeleton Key? Its a lot like The Others with being so psychologically thrilling and also has a brilliant twist. Those are probably my 2 all time favorite movies, intellectually. I know they must seem so boring to a lot of horror movie lovers (they did to me setting wise), but , just, wait, for it. :icon_eek:

The Invisible Man--a favorite of LilMan--we watch it all year round

Curse of the Whitechapel Vampire--Strange little movie I found on TubiTV. I think it might have been a TV movie (the credits looked like TV credits), but it was a rather nifty Sherlock Holmes story. Matt Frewer (the Trashcan Man) was Sherlock, and he was surprisingly good! Can't remember the name of the fellow who played Watson, but he did a bang up job, too.

The Wolf Man--LilMan hadn't seen this one, so we watched it tonight. I'd forgotten how very sad it is--right up there with Frankenstein in my book.

37. Scars of Dracula -- Another in the Lee movies done by Hammer. I had never seen this one either. I loved the bat dripping blood to bring Dracula back in this one. Fun stuff.

"A young man, Paul Carlson, is on a trip and spends the night at count Dracula's castle. Needless to say, he is murdered. After some time has passed, the young man's brother Simon comes to the small town where all the traces end to look for him."

20) Dracula AD 1972 (1972) – FTV – Caught this one in the early morning on the tale-end of the TMC marathon. Professor Van Helsing Jr. (Peter Cushing) protects his granddaughter from the vampire count (Christopher Lee), brought back by London hippies! Lots of “groovy” music in the background and Van Helsing’s granddaughter is quite buxom!
21) Tremors 2: Aftershocks (1996) – I missed the first one on this marathon. This one is not as good but some funny parts and Earl gets a chance at the “girl” this time. Michael Gross is still hilarious! 2.5 of 5 stars

I'd avoided this one because it sounded too much like my # 5 movie "Grave Halloween". This one sounds better, so I'll probably give it a try! Thanks!

I was pleasantly surprised by this one at the theater. Wasn't the best horror movie by any means, but worth the price of admission definitely. I'm referring to The Forest, sorry, should have said that at the beginning.
