I was looking at the cricket today, Australia v Pakistan, and they use the 'hotspot', infrared technology, to see if a batsman had 'knicked' the ball and has been caught. I was wondering if baseball uses this now regularly. Because you could be given as struck out and you might have got a little knick on the ball but you get told to leave the base. I looked it up but all it said was they're trialing it.

Also, another interesting fact that I heard maybe last summer was a American guy was talking on the radio about cricket in America. I never realized that America, or just Philadelphia, used to beat England at cricket up to about the year 1870.

....where do you see bias?....the hosts are all opinionated as hell, but I've not heard anything I would call out and out bias....

Would they be the announcers that call the post season games?

2016 the announcers weren't to bad, but the previous year it was extremely obvious who they were rooting for. And when you hear disappointment when your team gets a run in, it really takes away from the enjoyment.

...the human element will always, excuse the expression, come into play.....there are announcers and commentators that are blatantly "homers" then there are those that are the regular announcers for all manner of sporting events....they cover their particular sport and the "local" team on a regular basis and yes, they do interject their opinions-and the vast majority are even-handed both pro & con....as a case in point, Marty Brennaman of the Cincinnati Reds...he will give compliments when they are due, to BOTH teams-but he isn't shy about giving anyone in the organization hell if he thinks they deserve it.....

Haven't noticed bias regarding Baseball with ESPN since the collapse of the Yankee Dynasty of the 1990's / early 2000's. Football, on the other hand, is a whole different story with them. Their anti Patriots blinders is disgusting.

Exactly. Always rooting for the big market clubs. Even in the powerhouse days of the Indians in the 90's. All u would here is stories on the yanks and red Sox. Guys like Bruce drennen nail it. Like most local media who really know the deal.
