I like No Doubt, but for me, nothing surpasses the original of this song by Talk Talk

Can I get an amen! Al Green's song is #117 on Rolling Stone's greatest songs of all time list. It's been covered a zillion times but the nervous twitchy Talking Heads version is the best cover.

Absolutely prefer the Living Colour version. LC is one of the best rock bands of the last 30 years. In my humble, SwiftDog opinion anyway

This thread makes me happy! I love music. Some people hate covers, but when they're well done they're a treasure.



I usually prefer covers that try to do something different with the original, but I love how much fun Stealing Jane is having while playing the song. Still love the Sexton original better, buts cover is impassioned

I prefer the Blondie version but this Toadies version gives it a nice post-grunge / alternative slant \m/

The cool Echo & the Bunnymen cover from The Lost Boys soundtrack

I prefer the Doors original but the Echo & the Bunnymen version brings back fond memories of the summer between middle and high school

I love both Ryan Adams and Iron Maiden. Both have released crap, but the bulk of their achievements are great.

The original is usually the best, but Adams made this song so much like he would have written it himself. Stellar version in my opinion.
