I do hope I will be proven wrong, but as of now I just don't see any of these actors or characters obtaining a believable killer instinct needed for apocalyptic survival.

All i can say is 'CAROL' She was a wet character at the start, naive, scared- but whammo, episode by episode she became john rambo.

Give it the six episodes man , a story cannot be told on the first page eh.

I hate to say it...This had better step up its game. I realize that they have to do the groundwork for the ZA to occur. However, I was going to say I could at this point care less, if any of those characters turned. Perhaps next week will get more invested.
Agreed..
the mom is a rude jerk, kicks the cops out of the er when they are trying to find out what happened to precious little baby, then, when he acts like an ass and flees,to get high, her solution?"Call the cops!" and the daughter is much like her, self involved little snot..while dad seems to be a gutless wonder..assuming their plan is to make these characters evolve into someone we can pull for later down the road, but at the moment,I also am pulling for the walkers..the original walking dead, immediately felt for the main character, and his saviors, morgan and his son..

\I won't see it until tomorrow (comes on HULU at midnight tonight, and school starts tomorrow)! I'm cautiously optimistic :)

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know it would be available on Hulu.

OK. :)

the scene on the highway ramp, which various characters watch on the Internet...why does NO ONE say "bath salts"?

We have had previous discussions about how something can pull you out of the show, because it is unrealistic (in a show about zombies, lol). Well...that moment pulled me out of the show.

Ha! I understand. My big you-have-to-be-kidding, SMH moment

When the nurse untied one of young Johnny Depp teen restraints. Young man was bought in when he tried to commit suicide by running into traffic (that's what they thought) being hit. He has heroin in his system and Psych has been called to evaluate him. And she undoes one restraint? Umm...NO. You undo one hand and...they will use that hand to undo the other restraint. And get away. Like he did.
I absolutely agree. That would not happen. Not in any world.

I agree. It looks like they're
setting the mom up to be as tough as Carol, and it just doesn't work for me. I've seen that actress in other shows, and I've liked her work. But her acting in this is just off. I hope they shape her up soon. Or kill her off

Incompetent nurses do exist, and it is possible for something like that to happen in the real world (him wheedling her into undoing a restraint while he did his business) in fact worse things have happened in hospitals in real life with even grosser incompetence and negligence than that. I believed it.

She reminded me more of Andrea, cocky, know it all, rather than Carol..

I guess so.
Nick lay the charm on pretty thick, playing the helpless puppy. It could happen

I hear Carol is opening a day care center this season on TWD. She does have a way with children. :)

I plan on giving Fear a chance. Just hate when a show with so much potential misses the boat because of bad casting or sub-par writing. And the premier already has two strikes against it IMO. Too much drama and not enough plot.

The school guidance counselor with a blind faith in authority, she's definitely headed for trouble... the kid with the knife will have to save her...
I was wondering if it was the kid with the knife that was shot in the live cop footage. You know, "kill shot" that went viral. Did we see knife kid after that?
I might have to watch it again.

the guy who was shot was an adult maybe in his mid-twenties, thirties? Plus, later we see him looking out at guidance counselor mom from the school bus he's riding away in.. or maybe I have that order reversed... does that sound right? Anyhoo, the 'bath salts' guy was older and taller.

Ah, okay.
I wasn't sure if the bus scene was after that. Kid seemed to know what's coming more than anybody else on the show. I hope that means he survives. Mom, on the other hand, seems resistant to alternative ways of thinking. If she can't be more flexible, she'll have to go.
