Since we don't have a "Tell us about your crazy relatives" thread, I guess this one will have to do.

Last year on Facebook I had posted a picture of a jacket my son made. One of my cousins posted something nasty, then referred to him as "the WORST generation EVER!!!" I deleted her remarks and sent her a private message telling her to stop picking on my teenage son. (She is in her fifties, if that matters.) So, then she starts bad mouthing me and my son on her own wall. I unfriended her immediately. End of problem....until yesterday.

Her sister posted a funny YouTube clip. It's hilarious, if your from the Acadian side of PEI....otherwise you probably wouldn't really get the jokes. I commented on the clip about my parents last names (which is part of what the video is about) and the cousin I unfriended last year is now trying to argue with me about what my mom's maiden name was.

I would like to respond to her, but I REFUSE to argue on her sister's wall. I'm going to let it go for a few days, then I'm just going to block her.

Anyway, I'm not actually angry about this...just frustrated.

Facebook is ridiculous - do not lower yourself by responding - it is a waste of effort.

Sorry - I forgot how dumb Facebook is until I logged in recently - you have to be very careful about what you click on there.

In my opinion it is all in aid of making money for the companies that keep popping up asking you to follow them or 'like' them.

Facebook has allowed me to find friends and relatives I had lost touch with decades ago. I'm not going to hate on the entire thing because one person on my friend list is a putz.

In the same vein, it allowed me to reconnect with the loving foster family that I used to live with. I reconnected with the mom and dad figures and with my friends there who were other foster kids there.

I am angry at myself. Just been in a funky mood for over a week.
I am not going to work today. I can not deal with the lack of breathing air. There is still no AC and I can not be productive. It's going to be 90 degrees again today. Gives me headaches and upset stomach in there.

Everyone in my dept was miserable and sick on Friday. We were told how to dress for today. I was told I can wear capris, or a skirt. A skirt. No thank you.

Coworker looked up OSHA regulations. No allowed to work indoors in this circumstance unless you are unioned.
Boss says, well, out of luck. We went outside for a walk 91 degrees outside but it felt better, there was wind.. air.

It's that bad in there. The building is over 100 years old. Surrounded with glass block windows. I am located in the back corner with all the blocks.

Well, look who is going to look like a ****up at work. I can't do it. PTO starts today, so I have the time.
I am so angry at myself.

Got another email from my boss telling me that I can wear a light shirt and capri's because the a/c will not be fixed till Thursday. It's not the heat, it's the lack of air. No windows to open. They gave us desk fans, but just blows hot dusty air on me.

Jesus god, this place is so old fashioned. But I love it and my job.

They don't understand that abuse caused me to have major sinus damage. My face gets a heartbeat. And I don't want to tell them that.
So, I look like I am bailing out of work. Can't breathe in there.

Yea, I'm cryin

That really sucks not_nadine . My husband has had to discuss some health issues with his employer and with some co-workers to avoid them thinking he's just bailing on work.

There's always a bit of a feeling of "it's not your freaking business and I shouldn't have to tell you anything!"

Feel bad for you, n_n. Any chance they'd let you work half a day until the AC is fixed tomorrow? Hope they get it straightened out as this is a burden you shouldn't have to carry.

yeesh! They must be familiar with the concept of natural ventilation...seems like it's a law, as well, or it ought to be. Maybe acquire a few business cards from window installers. I know they make "windows" that are installed in block, a number of different sizes...from a relatively small 8x8 (I think) or for sure a 16x8...knock out a couple glass block, mortar in the "window" comes with a screen, and at least there's something to open when the a/c takes a dump. What is PTO? Don't be angry at yourself, that never pays well. You have a legitimate complaint. Window installers need to eat, too. Carpet installers do work when no one is around, middle of the night if need be...must be some window installers that could accommodate. Too...with construction being what it is, HVAC is often installed with "air-ex-changers"...duct-work run to an exterior wall to bring air into the HVAC system...because things are built so tight these days that furnaces & I imagine a/c systems need fresh air to work properly. I wonder if...even if the a/c system is down...the "blower" portion of the system could still run. But then if it is an older building maybe it doesn't have whatever. Nevermind. I don't know what I'm talking about.

Thanks, I asked Marsha to remove my post. See now, that new potato avatar you have looks like me if I go in there.

:stung: I have the time. Looks bad. Can't believe how this place is. I could claim anyone of those 1943 how to hire a woman excuses.

Paid time off that you have earned.

Companies used to give sick days, holidays, vacation days. They all seem to combo it to PTO now.

Thank you...paid is good. Thought "personal" until you told me. There's companies that make larger block windows, too...in addition to the smaller.

Butt weld stainless steel fittings, I'm doomed. Its 10 feet wide. 15 foot high. Ten of them. No wonder i am hiding.

Is there a single person, boss or HR person, that you'd trust with your background? It might be worth it to go to just that one person and explain. Don't cry, Nottie ((hugs))
