I just saw this:

AT&T poised to acquire DirecTV - May. 18, 2014

AT&T just isn't happy screwing up my phone service, they want to screw up my TV too. I guess some of that wonderful AT&T customer service is coming to direct TV. :mad-new:
I'm worried about this too. We haven't had specific problems with AT&T but I think they are way overpriced in their services. DirecTV is higher priced than Dish but they have always treated me very well, any time I've ever had a problem so I don't mind paying a little more for it. But if you combine AT&T's overpricing along with less than stellar customer service...I hope they don't go jacking with everything, from the package pricing to PPV or any of it. I love my tv just the way it is.

Sorry, CAT.

Here's a dumb question, but did you check to make sure the washer is still plugged in? You know how they can jiggle. Good luck with #3.............
I did, and it was. We replaced the pump on it a couple years ago, so I think this time it's done. It's not that old though. Why can't things just last?

haha, thanks!

I was angry yesterday because this patient called for an ambulance when he knew he didn't really need one. Then all the way to the hospital he acted ungrateful about everything we did.
Then this guy got stuck in spot where he couldn't get out on his own so we had to do an extraction, and the whole time we were doing it he was calling us incompetent and stupid because we were "taking too long" to get him free.
Even after Britt, my partner, told him we needed to go slow unless he wanted us to break his leg getting him out, he still complained.
He said no, he didn't want his leg broken, then went right back to calling us incompetent.
I started to wish Captain Brunie had been there. The last time someone said that to him he asked "Do you want us to leave and you can do it yourself?"
"No I don't want you to leave," the person said.
"Then try not talking while we're working."
The guy was so surprised that he was actually at a loss for words. Unfortunately the guy last night never came up wordless, not even once.
At one point Britt said "Could you please stop talking for a minute?" Which lasted about 4 seconds and he was off to the races so to speak.

I have to say that for Grandma and me, washers and dryers are pretty much single-purpose devices that last for a while. When one goes out, if it's not easily fixable, we go to a local appliance store and trade in for a used one. We haven't ever paid even $200 for a washer or dryer, and they still last 10 or 15 years. I suppose we could get some big front-loader or something, but we just don't see great benefit for the added cost.

I am so angry at social security, and medicare that I could eat nails, and spit tacks. Social security owes me $209 for money they took out of my benefits that they should not have done. I have been dealing with this since March.,and now they say I'm not entitled to the reimbursement. So my case worker at medicare is looking into it AGAIN. I was told that before but only because the paperwork was submitted wrong. This is getting old. I feel like they are jerking me around just to keep that money.

Planned obsolesance. It's the way of the world. How could the washer and dryer company stay in business if they sold you something that continued to work?

I am angry today because I learnt two more members of our team at work quit the job... That's so sad seeing all the people with whom I've been working for 3 years go... I miss the days we had about a year and a half ago, there always were difficult times but we all were together in it. And now almost everyone is gone and the company is just going down... I am more sad than angry, but still...
