I was angry yesterday because this patient called for an ambulance when he knew he didn't really need one. Then all the way to the hospital he acted ungrateful about everything we did.
Then this guy got stuck in spot where he couldn't get out on his own so we had to do an extraction, and the whole time we were doing it he was calling us incompetent and stupid because we were "taking too long" to get him free.
Even after Britt, my partner, told him we needed to go slow unless he wanted us to break his leg getting him out, he still complained.
He said no, he didn't want his leg broken, then went right back to calling us incompetent.
I started to wish Captain Brunie had been there. The last time someone said that to him he asked "Do you want us to leave and you can do it yourself?"
"No I don't want you to leave," the person said.
"Then try not talking while we're working."
The guy was so surprised that he was actually at a loss for words. Unfortunately the guy last night never came up wordless, not even once.
At one point Britt said "Could you please stop talking for a minute?" Which lasted about 4 seconds and he was off to the races so to speak.
