I am happy today because it is Saturday and I slept in.

I started babysitting this week, which means no matter how well I sleep....or not....I'm up at 6:00. We were not sure how baby would handle it as she is very attached to mommy, but she's been fine. She has already settled in to the new routine. She has breakfast before coming here, and now, when she finishes eating and sees mommy getting her shoes, she waves bye bye to daddy. Lol.

~~~
Before nap time, I play her a calming song by a native group we both like. When she gets up she prefers Elvis Presley. She dances to Jailhouse Rock and sings Love Me Tender. It is priceless.
That sounds so cute!
What native group does she listen to? I have a ton of native American songs or albums that I like.
Something really great happened for one of my grandsons.
He goes to a special school program. He may or may not be autistic. Doctor's don't seem to want to commit, but this program is hard to get into and specifically for autistic kids. The school and his step mom have done wonders for him.
Anyway, he got tickets to a Globetrotter game. It was his dad's weekend with the kids, so his dad agreed to take him, then pick up the other kids. He was only told that someone gave the tickets to his son, and he assumed a friend who couldn't use them. Turns out, the lunchroom supervisors all pitched in and bought him the tickets. He got a new basketball, got to meat the players and get signatures.
The kids are all basketball fans, so for him, this was an awesome gift. For me and his dad and step-mom, the fact that these adults who work with him chose to do this for him is so great. There was a time when he couldn't spend five consecutive days in the lunchroom, and now they are giving him such a gift.
Things like this help remind us that there is still good in the world. It sounds like this school is the perfect fit for your grandson at this time in his life.
I did something little that could have a big affect...it makes me happy.
There is a major recall of flour across Canada due to e-coli. (Who pooped in the flour?) As usual, the recall started small and keeps growing. Now some products made with the flour are also being recalled. Just keeps growing.
The CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) tweeted something about handling instructions with raw flour. Well, I never considered raw flour a risk before. This flour is a risk, even cooked as cooking does not kill e-coli. So, I questioned CFIA about the risks of normal flour....when my kids were small we used flour to make play dough and paper mache. Well, CFIA has now put out a public warning letting parents know if they used this flour to make things like that, throw it out.
Something many people wouldn't think of. And, it's kids that would be playing with it.
That was good thinking on your part. Well done!
I am ecstatic today because my niece was awarded a Presidential Scholarship. She sacrificed a lot for this.
As her uncle though, I must confess to being a tad displeased that her "Favorite item in backpack" isn't a Stephen King paperback, so I'll have to work on that.
My niece is a beautiful human being and I know the future will be better for her being in it.
Congratulations to her.
Took me too long to realize this.
Yeah, wow. Send them this! Will it hurt them? Probably not. Not if they're an @$$hole. But it might make you feel better. It would make me feel better! But as much as I love the big symbolic gesture, I think for me it's worked less well in practice than in theory. Actually I know it has. Probably it's better just to watch it a few times and let Puddles do his work. I feel better every time I hear it. :)
