As some of you may know, I am terrified of dogs. Something funny happened today.

My son's friend was out front of our house. He had his dog with him. Absolutely beautiful dog. The dog is a fully trained working dog. The boy has anxiety. Quite severe. The dog is trained to help him. (This is not the same as a therapy dog. The dog is trained equal to a seeing-eye dog.)

I went out and asked if I could pet her. He said yes. As I put my hand out, the dog sniffed, but kept sniffing. It made me nervous. Suddenly the dog turned her body to press against me. The kid started laughing. He said the dog was "signalling" because she sensed my anxiety. The kid's friend suggested said the dog would hug me if I wanted. I said as much as she's a beautiful dog, I'm not sure I can handle that.

Anyway, 8 thought it was funny. Dog makes me anxious, then wants to make me feel better. Lol

Headed out to a very large antique and junk store festival today at a town near where I live. Supposed to be over 100 vendors. Both my fiancée and I like checking out stores like that. I was watching her get ready this morning, we talked about the wedding as it always seems to be on her mind as far as logistics. It’s so nice having her to talk to about just anything and everything. We seem to be able to communicate very easily which I’ve missed so, so badly over the last few years. Me sitting on the bed, watching her fix her hair in the bathroom and just....talking. So I guess I’m happy today because I have a wonderful fiancee who, for some untold reason, likes to talk to me as much as I like to talk to her and that’s so important I’ve found out over the years.

....that's what love is truly all about bro.....a number of little and simple things that interweave into a tapestry of togetherness.....and Tracy and I love these kind of journeys...poking into all the goodies and spending time together....

I rarely go to those antique stores with my wife anymore. We got into a horrible argument over something we bought. Brought the item home and argued endlessly at to what we had purchased was a knick or a knack.
Last time we went into an antique store, there was a display table set for dinner. In the middle of one of the plates was a happy meal box....the old looking kind just a red box with the big yellow M on the sides. I pick up the box, and say "awww, look how they've used the old happy meal box in the display"......BF and daughter both say No, it's a real happy meal.....I open the box and there is food inside, so I say that it must be one of those experiments to prove that happy meals don't rot.....I point out how fresh the food inside looks, and wonder out loud how old it really is. Then the BF points to the still cold drink sitting on the table, with the little beads of condensation running down the cup.......Yep folks, I'd opened up some kid's happy meal. The BF and daughter walked away like they didn't even know me ...... at least the sales clerk got a good belly laugh :facepalm_smiley:
