I don't want to embarrass you, but it was an act of kindness from you many years ago that changed my outlook on life. Made me want to focus more on others. I thought if someone I'd never even met in person could be so nice to me, that there was much more goodness in this world than I realized. I wanted to be like that too. You started me on a path of paying it forward that has blessed me beyond belief. Much love to you as well, my friend.

Thank-you!

See how great this is? You just never know how you touch someone's life. How you can make a difference.

This is the four year anniversary of my father passing away. We never had a close relationship. We lived across the country from each other and my step-monster made it her lifelong goal to keep us apart. Then made a goal of shutting me out and turning him against me before he died. Long, sad story.

I lost my father, a woman who was a second mother to me who I knew for 18 years, and my precious dog (who was my life) all within a little over a year. I never would've made it through without the SKMB. Thank you for being my friends.

I know I've posted this before, but life is short. Be kind. If you are wrong, admit it and make things right. If you are wronged, don't let it consume you. Try to let it go because it hurts you more than anyone else. Tell the ones you love how much they mean to you. A kind word can change lives.

(((((Morgan))))) I have just seen this and wasn't even aware that this conversation was underway before I very spontaneously posted the Disturbed for you last night. A sudden urge to reach out and touch you with the kindness that you reached out to touch me with, and that song in particular was the one that reached right out on its own, for you. You really are the sweetest thing, sincerely and genuinely and its a pleasure getting to know you !

And a hug from me right back. So glad you joined the SKMB. :)

I'm so blessed by you all. You have completely turned my sadness around and reminded me to be grateful. (Isn't it fun sullying the bummer thread? LOL No offense to Lepplady - you know I'm only teasing. )

Yesterday I had a heavy heart all day because it was Ray Bradbury's birthday. Almost every year I would try to send him a great card and sometimes a present and he always responded with a lovely answer. The last time I saw him was on his 90th birthday. We were going to visit on his 92nd but alas the visit had to be done in the cemetery. :blue:

My job brings me into contact with the entire spectrum of humanity, but lately there has been an overabundance of the sad, broken, sly, loud and stupid. Or maybe it just feels that way because I need a vacation? Either way, it has me kind of bummed. We'll see what next week brings.

Here, there and everywhere.

How did I not know this?? I usually recognize the signs as it starts. :D I don't think the eclipse helped matters. And I see the next full moon is September 6th. I dare anyone who doesn't think that has an influence on people to come work at a public library.

I keep trying to find the right thing to say, but I keep flubbing them. You're both quite special, with gigantic hearts and I'm so blessed to call you my friends.

All of you!
