I don't want to embarrass you, but it was an act of kindness from you many years ago that changed my outlook on life. Made me want to focus more on others. I thought if someone I'd never even met in person could be so nice to me, that there was much more goodness in this world than I realized. I wanted to be like that too. This is the four year anniversary of my father passing away. We never had a close relationship. We lived across the country from each other and my step-monster made it her lifelong goal to keep us apart. Then made a goal of shutting me out and turning him against me before he died. Long, sad story.

I lost my father, a woman who was a second mother to me who I knew for 18 years, and my precious dog (who was my life) all within a little over a year. I never would've made it through without the SKMB. Thank you for being my friends.

I know I've posted this before, but life is short. Be kind. If you are wrong, admit it and make things right. If you are wronged, don't let it consume you. Try to let it go because it hurts you more than anyone else. Tell the ones you love how much they mean to you. A kind word can change lives.

Almost every year I would try to send him a great card and sometimes a present and he always responded with a lovely answer. The last time I saw him was on his 90th birthday. We were going to visit on his 92nd but alas the visit had to be done in the cemetery.
