we're starting to get the outer edges. wind gusts and light rain so far. it's going to do what it did for everyone else and sit over us for about a day and a half all told, it looks like, but for us, fortunately it will be weaker. some flooding possibility (but not at my house probably), some potential for tornadoes, i think especially because we'll be on the east side of it. i went out and got groceries earlier today so i could hibernate for a couple days, i was low on supplies. the gas shortage was in full swing though, couldn't get any. but i don't have anywhere i need to go, so i'm good there.
Stay safe.

All good here. Just did a walk around. Many downed limbs, small twigs. Critters ok and have cabin fever. Maybe tomorrow they can go out. Still wind gusts. NO idea how long power will be out and if wifi will connect. Just thankful safe.
Thank you to everyone who showed care and concern. The Ka-Tet is powerful. all you can hear is chain saws and generators!

This storm was a lot stronger in my area than I thought it was going to be. I was fair distance from the eye but we still had 70-80 MPH winds for most of the day and had some 100MPH gusts. We got a ton of sideways rain. We have had less rain than normal this summer so once it stopped raining, the standing water went down quite a bit. I'm guessing I had around 12" of rain at my house. In the county North of me, they had a band come through and drop 10" of rain in 2 hours. Somehow, I never lost power through all of this. We have a good percentage of people without power in my county but I'm not one of them.

All politics aside, it's interesting how Trump's Mar-a-Lago has been spared and SK's palace in Osprey, FL took a direct hit! I hope all is safe and sound on Casey Key and I hope the writing never stops. :)
That's because 'Satan' controls the weather!!!! ;;D Now back to your normally scheduled program....
