Mulholland Drive
8.5/10 - Brilliant. The last 30 or so minutes were f*cking weird.

Have you seen "Natural Born Killers?" That's a freak-out of a movie.
Pulp Fiction did have a lot of funny parts, for sure.
"Crank Call! Crank Call!!"
I've seen bits of Natural Born Killers. Looks good. It's been on my watch list for a while, but damn age restrictions means it'll be hard to watch, unless it's on telly.
I got you a fake ID (hope you have seen Superbad so you will get the joke )

I just finished watching this myself. I liked it. I thought it was a fair go at it. Although like you, I did prefer the story. I thought Joan Allen did a great job.A Good Marriage. Not good at all, say sorry (though I did like the shout out to Ms. Mod in the credits ). It's absolutely the scariest short story I've ever read, and the only one to give me nightmares--TWICE!--so maybe disappointment was inevitable. It could have been so much better and tighter at an hour. it's really too bad it couldn't have been done in something like an anthology format with another creepy short.
I really liked Horns. The screenwriter did a bang up job of translating a convoluted novel (with all the time jumps) into a straight ahead thriller. I can't meet you on Allen or LaPaglia (or anyone else in the cast of A Good Marriage), though. Aside from a couple of good moments, the acting was appallingly either wooden or over the top. I usually like both actors, so that was a real surprise to me. I've decided that whenever Mr. King's story Beadie starts to creep me out, I'll think of LaPaglia and roll my eyes (lol). I'm not kidding when I say that story disturbed me immensely. The movie just caused mild irritation--haha!I just finished watching this myself. I liked it. I thought it was a fair go at it. I also watched Horns. Thought it was pretty well done . The music was great, would love to have a soundtrack. Lots of familiar faces in this one.
I thought Lapaglia did a decent job too. Maybe I was influenced by a movie I was watching (and quit) before I found A Good Wife. Now that was some stiff acting! And it was in my recommendation queue. I'm thinking, really? THis is what you picked for me. Can't even tell you what it was. Very reminiscent of Blair Witch. Which I found laughable 30 minutes in. One of those handheld camera things documenting this lost artist, Mr. Jones? I think it was. Anyway, Wife was a breath of fresh air. lol! The woman who played the daughter is in House of Cards with Spacey and I love that show.I really liked Horns. Now, you might like Jones. I was just totally bored with it and probably stuck with it for about 15 minutes. It may have gotten better after that, but the fact that it was Blair witchy immediately bugged me. No, I think I watched at least 30 minutes.See, you saved me from a bad movie--lol! Netflix recommended Mr. Jones for me, too, and I considered taking a look last night. Bullet dodged I couldn't place the daughter on Marriage--Knew I'd seen her before, but I couldn't remember where, so thanks for that, too!
I was like that with I, Frankenstein. I don't think I made it 15 minutes in. The eye twitching started early, but when the demons started kung-fu fighting with the angel things, I was done. I like Aaron Eckherd, too, but it was just too much stupid in a package for me.Now, you might like Jones. I was just totally bored with it and probably stuck with it for about 15 minutes. I watched A Good Marriage last night. I liked it, it was well-acted, well-written, and had great production values. But, it did what many sK adaptions do, made me want to reread sK's version since I assume, so far safely, that I prefer the original. There often seems to be something missing from the original, not something impossible to include due to screenwriting-related restraints. I respect the daunting challenges facing the screenwriter, but I think some aspects of a story are more than essential, and that too often they are unaccountably omitted.I just finished watching this myself. You didn't miss much--it was just an acknowledgment in the credits to myself and Julie (my co-worker) by listing our names. What did I miss! I guess I wasn't paying attention....
Actually impressed my younger daughter. Not sure why she was looking but about a year or so ago she asked me if I knew how many places my name turned up. Finally Mom is a "somebody" in her eyes.Yer getting quite famous there, Ms Mod. Mentioned in Books, movies... Yay for you. (and Julie)
