Been awhile since I checked into this thread.

The last films I watched were Draft Day, Bedevilled (Korean), Colorful: The Motion Picture (Japanese Animation), Logan's Run, Paths of Glory, The Jerk, Masquerade (Korean), and The Host (Korean).

I've been on a fairly decent run of movies lately. Only one of them (The Jerk) that I have seen more than once.

Ace In The Hole (1951) Kirk Douglas

This is a Billy Wilder movie that was not well liked when it was released in 1951 but has gained a following and is now considered one of his best movies. Kirk Douglas plays a big city reporter (Chuck Tatum) that has been fired from a few big city newspaper jobs for questionable ethics and lands at a small paper in New Mexico. His goal is to get a big story to get him back in the National spotlight and get back with a large paper. After toiling a year in New Mexico with no results, he stumbles upon an accident where a man gets trapped from a cave-in (His own Baby Jessica story ;-D). The man is alive but stuck and it's going to take a big rescue effort to get him freed. Chuck Tatum proceeds to exploit the story Nationally for his own gain. The movie is a great look at the media sensationalizing of a story and the how the public can willingly go along for the ride. Not much has changed from 1951 ;-D.

About Time (2013)-Really cute romantic movie about a young man (Domnhall Gleeson) who learns that he can travel time at the age of 21, and he uses this new-found knowledge to find the love of his life (played by Rachel McAdams). I really liked this one and I'm not that much into romantic movies, but the plot was different and Gleeson and McAdams had good chemistry.

Watched Ferris Buller's Day Off again for the hundredth time or so. Movie cracks me up. And makes me sad when the poor Ferrari gets totaled :(

BTW, a real one of that Ferrari is worth over $10 million dollars in today's market

I have mixed feelings about that movie. I kinda' feel like the Jennifer Grey character.... I hate people that always get away with stuff!

Watched Prometheus again. Like it better now that I read that link that Cappy posted in the Aliens 5 thread that tells you 10 things about Prometheus that aren't really explained in the movie. Makes much more sense now. Charlize Theron still creeps me out....
