Watched Ferris Buller's Day Off again for the hundredth time or so. Movie cracks me up. And makes me sad when the poor Ferrari gets totaled :(

I like the movie'

I'm sure I posted this before about Ferris Buller's Day Off and my mentor.

My mentor was the sitting Sociology Chair at a private Catholic university and he was pretty cool and laid back. He told the entire class that movie was a disgusting display of disrespecting authority figures and making them look foolish and a young man who gets away with a number of crimes and held up as hero. He was all kinds of PO'd.

Watching Evita for the first time. Impressed so far... The music is superior, which btw causes me to realize why good movie-musicals have always been popular: they combine music with story in a unique way; other movie genres don't make the music in it the primary focus.

For me prometheus was better the second time around. Think i went in expecting awesome gun fights (Aliens) scary chest bursters (Alien). Then none of these things appeared just a really camp michael fassbender and a really annoying heroine in naomi rapace. Wheres the ball breaker like ripley and the crazy but cheesy one liner guy like hudson. any way hope alien 5 is a return to form.

Death Proof - F*ckin awesome. Loved the exploitation film vibe. Loved the dialogue (unlike some people). Loved the end chase (better than any CGI action scene I've ever seen). If you have an attention span, it's well worth it.

And, it has a lap dance. That is ALWAYS a bonus. ;;D

Did you see Planet Terror too (part of the double feature)? I thought both were great. If you haven't seen Planet Terror, see it immediately.

No, I haven't. Despite having a similar drive-in movie culture (we had movies like Stone, The Cars that Ate Paris, etc) we didn't get the Grindhouse double feature. :(

The movies are sold two ways here, there is the grindhouse double feature and then longer versions of each movie were released on dvd separately.
