I'm so happy! Hulu has Love & Mercy
In the 1960s, Beach Boys leader Brian Wilson struggles with emerging psychosis as he attempts to craft his avant-garde pop masterpiece. In the 1980s, he is a broken, confused man under the 24-hour watch of shady therapist Dr. Eugene Landy.

I love John Cusak and love the beach boys! I think this is the move sir fljoe0 watched awhile back and enjoyed.

I'm off to watch the movie.
This is a really good movie - I love John Cusak, too!

Let's Scare Jessica To Death

One of our newer members mentioned this in that thread about movies starting our love of horror. I had never seen this one. And I'm not quite sure I got what was going on. Yes, I was multitasking.

Not sure if she was crazy, if things happened or didn't, did she kill someone, were there vampires. Geez, I don't know what was going on.

Oh wow! I missed the mention on horror movie thread. I saw this on late night TV when I was 7 or 8. And the same night I got sick - high fever - and the movie was all in my dreams - I was rambling on and on about it. It did scare me then. I might have to watch it. I got hulu and netflix.

Love Jaws!! I missed the first one tonight. 2 is on now. bummer. It's one of those movies I never get tired of watching.

Hi!

I'm not sure where to post this so here goes

Southcliffe (7.0/10) (Netflix 4 episodes)

Following a raft of shootings in an English market town, the crimes are retold through the eyes of a journalist and the tragedies' victims.

I liked it very much (but I'm weird). Thought provoking from a myriad POV.

I enjoyed it very much. The movie, the music, the acting top notch. (That therapist. Argh. Won't speak ill of the dead. :a24:)

Dana Jean Did you see this?

The Letters (5.3/10) (Netflix)
A drama that explores the life of Mother Teresa through letters she wrote to her longtime friend and spiritual advisor, Father Celeste van Exem over a nearly 50-year period.

(I haven't watched it. I'm up to my eyeballs with things to do. =D But I wanted to give you a heads up.)
I should watch it since I have such an unfavorable view of her. Try to see both sides of a complicated woman.

Finished a re-watch of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels last night. I hadn't seen it in years. Gawd, why didn't they ever make a sequel to this? Steve Martin and Michael Caine are superb in this!!! Favorite scene: 'May I go to the bathroom?' ;-D

Battle Royale (7.7/10) (ShowTime OD)

In the future, the Japanese government captures a class of ninth-grade students and forces them to kill each other under the revolutionary "Battle Royale" act.

Goodness. I didn't know whether to laugh, cry, run away. The closed captions are inadvertently (I think) hilarious. The violence, blood and gore in Tarantino's Kill Bill 1 & 2 have nothing on this movie. I think I started giggling maniacally as a defense mechanism. And after all this killing the last...15 seconds wraps up-have hope! Go for it! Run!
(I texted my kid brother to tell him about it. He ran off to watch it.o_O xD)
