I was told only the person who placed the order and received an email would be eligible to buy one book so your second ticket would not be included.
Thank you. I appreciate you finding out for me. What a shame tho.

Possibly, but I wasn't given the schedule of when they were sending out the emails.Wow, so if you haven't received an email by now are you out? Damn, this is my last chance to get a signed EOW. I don't like buying signed 1st's because of potential forgeries.
They are checking IDs and if they don't match, I don't think they will let you in. Unfortunately, I'm off duty and will be leaving the office in about a minute so won't have time to get in touch with the NBF but perhaps you can find a way to get through to them.Hi MsMod, a member has offered to sell me his ticket to buy a signed book. Would that work? Or do they check IDs against the name on the ticket?
For anyone wondering there was no id checking to get in. Maybe they'll do that for the books but I doubt it. As of 930 there's still about 1000 empty seats. They are checking IDs and if they don't match, I don't think they will let you in. There are notices up here that it is being taped. I think it will air later.CSPAN2 is carrying the National Book Festival at noon today. I think that is too late for the King appearance though. For some reason they are carrying the opening of the new museum on both CSPAN and CSPAN 3 even though it is exactly the same.
...complain much?...Did anyone watch the video? I started it, but then stopped, because I'm wondering if there is anything new in it. Does he mostly tell the same anecdotes? Is there a lot of joking around and laughing? I honestly dislike it when speeches/talks devolve into weird comedy fests that aren't really funny (sort of like panels at Comic Cons), I'd rather it be serious and informative (as in...tell me what you worked on today, or yesterday; what projects are you working on for streaming services; things like that). If anyone could give me a review, it would be appreciated.

....I get that, just don't bludgeon everyone with it...Take this in the best possible way, but I laughed when I read that. I hope you saw the humor in it as well.
I don't know, man, I just like straight conversations with King. When it starts to veer toward the silly, it isn't for me. People have told me I'm humorless and should lighten up. Maybe they're right. But think of something like a drum clinic with a famous percussionist. To me, it is great when I watch one of those and the drummer isn't joking around...she just tells you how she executed that sixteenth-note pattern between the hi-hat and snare.
I can agree with this. We have all seen those interviews where someone just wastes time and you're screaming at the screen, "ASK SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING FRESH!!" Always drives me nuts when they waste his time asking stupid crap.Take this in the best possible way, but I laughed when I read that. I hope you saw the humor in it as well.

...yeah, really!...they need to step up and break new ground...for gods sake, ask him where he gets his ideas!...I can agree with this. hahaha! If you watched that Dick Cavett interview that was posted, Dick actually asked the 4 guys there, "Where do you get your ideas?" Of course, at the time, maybe he was the very first person to ask so it wasn't so irritating....yeah, really!...they need to step up and break new ground...for gods sake, ask him where he gets his ideas!...
Hey DanaJean, don't know if you saw today but King told fan that he and Peter would begin working on third book in Jack Sawyer trilogy this February. He said they had already discussed what the book would be about...sounds promising.hahaha! Stephen is so gracious and kind, he just goes along with the same schtick. But, you know inside he is bored out of his brains. I think he loves challenging and interesting interviews.
My head is exploding.Hey DanaJean, don't know if you saw today but King told fan that he and Peter would begin working on third book in Jack Sawyer trilogy this February. He said they had already discussed what the book would be about...sounds promising.
