I used to collect Weird Tales magazine. I had all but the first nine issues (1923-24). I got tired of them and sold them for a very decent price.

And on the other hand is he conscious of his imitation of others style on occasion? In Dolans Caddillac the protagonist needed to find out a piece of information and the way he did it said John D. McDonald through a bullhorn. After that I began to notice other things and soon realized the whole thing could have been written by McDonald. It made for a damn fine homage.
John D. McDonald...my favorite Uncle, the one who got me into reading King, gave me a box of old paperbacks of McDonald just before he died. Told me they were some of his favorite books. I haven't read any of them yet. Guess it's about time to start.
