I really gave him an honest try, but was so uncomfortable, that I think my back was in worse shape after the massage....
He talked about his ex fiancee the entire time, but in present tense, like they were still together, and would correct himself and say "ex" after every sentence.... When he was working on my legs, he grabbed my ankle and started gushing about how beautiful my tattoo is.....then he wanted to know what color I used to paint my toenails.....
If that wasn't bad enough, he asked if he could massage my abdomen, and if my bowels were working well. Never has anyone asked me either of those questions. When he asked if he could massage lower on my back, "because he couldn't see butt crack yet", I decided we were done.
Most horrible experience ever.

So I guess there is no point in asking you if it moved........?

 It's people like that that give truly qualified massage therapists a bad rep.

:applause:

I've never had a professional massage, but I may have to now. I wasn't aware that a free bowel exam was included and since my proctologist broke his finger I've been searching for an alternative.
See? This is just what I mean. ;;D

Seriously, though, he wasn't completely off in what he was saying about the belly massage. We're taught to do it in a circular clockwise motion working in toward the navel to follow the digestive tract to relax that area--not just tight muscles--and that helps with any "issues" that may be going on with digestion and...elimination.

I am outraged and appalled. Sorry for your experience. Not bad enough that one is so vulnerable anyway, and then to get hit with that.

Worst I've had is a Korean massage therapist (shut up - this was in Korea, and I was hurting) who kinda beat on me. But still, effective at getting the knots out. She merely replaced them with bruises.

I know...........I'm a bad egg.

That is interesting to know though. Perhaps he should have asked Sunny if she was familiar with the belly massage and the benefits of such before asking her if the mail was still being delivered on time.

Exactly! And a professional massage therapist would have done that. Same thing with breast massage. He also would not have mentioned butt crack. He should have instead been reassuring the client about draping (keeping the naughty bits covered properly).

His lack of professionalism was what I found so off putting.....by the time he asked me that, I was as stiff as a board again.
My main problem is that the vertebrae in my lower back lack the motion that they should have normally....and I get knots in my shoulders due to the way I work.
