Daughter got married today. Nothing changes - she and her guy were living together, and kids were blended. He's a good guy. The only real difference is now they qualify for a much higher-priced house.

In a charming move, they're both going to change their names to her and his family names, hyphenated.

...how wonderful Grandpa!...but, at their age-shouldn't they have already had their hyphens removed????......(BTW, The Stanley issue is resolved).....

It's complicated. For one, the Stanley never re.... no. Never mind. Glad it's resolved!!!

And it's complicated. Their hyphens have long since.... no. Never mind. ANYWAY, she likes her family name and wants to keep it. Her kids like her family name and are probably going to change theirs when they hit the age when they can. And he likes her family name, doesn't want to completely ditch his own, and so they settled on a hyphen for each of them.

They were sitting at the counter at the courthouse, and they were telling the clerk what they wanted. I piped in, "I'm her father. This is me, walking her down the aisle." Daughter cracked up.

Hump day again, yeah!

Tomorrow is a holiday here in Germany Ascension of Christ it's also unofficial fathers day many folks will have a cook out I guess. And Sunday is Mothers Day. I have to buy some chocolate for her.
Have to head to work. :run_pig:

(((all in need or not)))
You get the Ascension off? I work in a Catholic Church and we don't get it off. I'm jealous!

Grandpa - yay for the new son in law! I like their idea of using both names hyphenated - it seems very meaningful and well thought out.

GNTLGNT hyphens removed!!!
