Good morning! Hope you all had a great weekend.

We had a nice one here. Went to Brandon's on Sat night for supper. Sunday I finally got my library back in order. It had become the catch all room. Ugh. Scott grilled a ton of food for Sunday and Monday. I didn't cook all weekend! :D Even got some reading done yesterday. :applause:

Today I need to clean up the big room downstairs. I still have Christmas stuff on the bed. Everything is boxed up but the boxes are still on the bed. :a11: Hoping to find a shutterfly type book of Brandon's that is all pictures of Ahmira. He cannot find it since he moved out. I have searched everywhere I can think of but I can't find it either. Hoping maybe it slipped back behind that bed and I just missed it so far.

Anyway, want to get all this done before RJ gets here in a couple hours, so better get myself moving. Then reward myself with some reading time, maybe.

Have a great day! Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:

Here's a good story for everyone

5-6 years ago, my mom wanted me to sign on her safe deposit box so I had access in case of emergency. I went down to the bank and put my name on the card. 2 to 3 years ago, mom was asking me if I had my key because she couldn't find hers. I looked everywhere and could not find it. She found hers but I kept looking for mine. I keep all of this kind of stuff in one place so I began to wonder if she actually gave me one. I've looked for this key for years and never found it. Friday, mom called because her key was gone and she called the bank to see if they could open it and they couldn't (has to be drilled out). Today, they drilled the lock out and made two more keys and gave one to each of us. I left the bank and threw the key in the fold down arm rest console of my truck. When I got to the house and took the new key out of the console, I wondered if I had done the same thing years ago when leaving the bank (putting the key in the console). I dug around in the console and guess what, I found the old safe deposit box key under the owner's manual. It has been in my truck all these years. ;-D I can't believe I found the key 3 hours after they drilled the lock out.

;-D Isn't that always the way it goes?

I did not find the photo book. He is sure he had it here. I am sure he never gave it to me for safekeeping. I had some of his books and other pictures in the library, and if he had given it to me, that's where I would have put it.

I did find all manner of socks, some of RJ's pj's and a couple shirts under that bed though. Good grief.

Isn't that weird? These odd little happenings.

Maybe it's in fljoe's console. ;;D

I haven't been around for a few days. I've been too pooped to participate. When you work retail, seasonal sales are soul sucking and I'm done in. Actually, to tell the truth, I kind of like 'em. I go into, "May I help you spend your money on books?" mode, and it's a ball. I send folks home with lots to read and all sorts of goodies and it makes me happy!
It'll kill an old woman though if she ain't careful. So I've been coming home, soaking in a tub full of hot water w/chamomile salts till my feet stop screaming bloody murder, then reading until I fall asleep.
Tonight I'm starting on my new R. McCammon's, Freedom of the Mask. Can't wait! I hope I don't fall asleep too fast.
The sale ended Monday night, but my feets don't know it. So it's another early night for me.

Just wanted to holler and let you know that I haven't fallen into a hole and can't get out... again.

Very good. I am glad to hear that. Dentist stuff sucks.
It certainly does. I got lucky with my dental team though. I warned them up front that I might bolt right out of the chair and that I was deathly afraid of them and they responded with all of the kindness in the world. We even joke about it now. When I went in on my b-day they threw me a little party with cupcakes and a ta-ra-ra LOL!

Visit to my doctor yesterday, got new prescription, and a to Whom it may concern letter (intended for my USA trip this summer, when you travel with medicine to the americas you better have one of them otherwise the custum can be mighty suspicious). Didnt really do anything yesterday, still dog tired and feel a sleep at 8 pm. Strange.

Just lost two solid hours to Tom Jones on YouTube. How did I never listen to him before now? What a powerful voice! Some of the 60s arrangements were sort of cheesy, but not all, and that VOICE. WOW. All I ever knew were the really over the top songs, and ones from movies (Flushed Away formed a good part of my opinion of Mr. Jones--lol) I was looking for something totally different, got interested in a Tom Jones/Van Morrison duet (I love Van the Man), and I was off to the races. I will be hating life when the alarm goes off tomorrow morning, but right now I'm very pleased :)

Tom Jones had a lot of sex appeal [back in the day]- and THAT VOICE!

A lot of Welsh people have really good singing voices (It's Not Unusual) :casanova:
:m_snicker: - sorry - just HAD to say that!

By the way - he is probably still somewhat sexy - just more mature, now

Hi Kurby

Hope to meet up with you and others this summer but we still have not tied down the loose ends yet. I should just book our flights and put it on a credit card {bite the bullet}

Must sign off now and get ready for work

Love and Green Lights to all!

I'd never heard anything but his schmaltzy pop stuff (like It's Not Unusual--lol), but he had a hell of a voice for soul/blues! That's pretty much my favorite kind of music :) I'm amazed that he's kept most of his range at 75--not many male singers are that fortunate (the only other one I can think of is Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin).
