I know they use chalk on Shelties in the ring. Terv owners have been known to use black marker to darken the mask. It isn't legal for show purposes, but any tack shop or online grooming catalog will have non toxic doggy makeup.
That would work - she's hates a bath, chalk would wipe off!! Thanks!

Preparing a picshow about my trip to the states. Have been asked since so many appreciated my talk on the natives to fill in a few blanks now that i have pics taken by myself from a lot of important sites. We'll see how that goes.
Looking forward to that!

That first dog (the pug) has me wanting to walk to Starbucks on my morning break for a decaf, skinny Carmel Machiatto as a treat. I like to sprinkle nutmeg on top - yum!
That is the Ogre's favorite too - except he gets full fat. No skinny drinks in this house!

:okay:
Thursday already? I think it might be pay day today (not sure) I do know it is every 2nd Thursday but I guess I haven't been keeping track lately.

Hey it must be "throwback Thursday!" My future daughter-in-law is a fan of FB and on Thursday they like to post old photos from the past:

One more day to go then it's two days off - yay!

Anyone know a good recipe using chocolate wafer cookies? I bought two packages on sale and I normally bake something on Thursday night to take in to work on Friday
:haha::m_thinking::m_pan:
Ummm. I'll have it by the end of the day. "Huh? Why and how" are all words that I will include when I find a recipe.
I'm not just saying it is easy to access FB. Why am I explaining this to you? You seem to already know what I mean.:heart:

I won a boule tournament today. 13-10 in the deciding game after being behind with 2-8 and 6-10 (it is first to 13). First prize was 500 crowns (about 70 US dollars). So i have a good dinner tonight and raise a toast to the memory of Nate.

I have a mystery at a house I can see from my back yard.

This house must have been a vacation home for someone. For approximately 15 years, I used to see a couple of ladies (did not know them at all) show up a couple of weeks a year at this house and those ladies were the only people I've ever seen go in that house. The house has never been rented, just got an annual visit from these two ladies. The house was well kept, had the grass mowed every week, got painted once, had a roof put on after a hurricane, etc. A year or so ago, the maintenance stopped and the house has been sitting there neglected. I thought that maybe it had been foreclosed on but I kept looking for it to show up for sale and it never has. So finally, yesterday I started digging in the public records to see what was going on. I did not see a foreclosure notice but I did find a notice and some charges from the county for having to mow the grass. Also the tax bill from last year has not been paid. Then I dug further and found that this house was left to a lady in 1996 (probably one of the ladies that showed up every year) and has never had a mortgage. So the house is fully paid for and is probably not too far away from being seized by the county and sold at auction. So, what the hell is going on here? No one is going to let house with no mortgage worth $200,000 just get seized. If the lady died, wouldn't the kids swoop down and sell it? If she was sick with medical bills, wouldn't someone sell it to pay the bills? Is it possible that no one knows this house exists? I'm really puzzled over this.

Do the public records state the name of the lady owner? You could possibly do a death notice search- or search her name. Sometimes relatives are listed. She may have passed, no will, no surviving relatives. Presto, the county gets a free home. you could also inquire at the tax office. Keep us posted if you do more investigation.

On the property appraiser website, there is a Patchogue, NY address listed for the lady. It was probably her father that left her the house. There is an estate notice when he passed in 1996 and this lady got the house. I did a quick search but found no death notice for this lady.

She might be in a home, unaware or unable to take care of the back issues. A shame. County isn't aggressive in mailing or tracking down people.
