Right. Emily Kinney can sing. She's also pretty. She's not the world's most gifted actress and, in a character-centred show, with an ep of her own, couldn't carry it (she needed Officer Creepy-Friendly and the Psychob*tch to help her out - though the ep itself wasn't at all bad; they've certainly done worse).
The problem is also that Beth, as a character, just isn't that interesting. IIRC she was supposed to be about 16 back in the farm days. That'd probably mean she was supposed to be 18ish now. Compared to Maggie, who it was hinted had gone a bit off the rails in her late teens, Beth's done nothing purely because she didn't have the time before ZA and because she's not got the same spark as her older sis.
But beyond that, and with special regard to the singing, she just needs to STFU. Tbh, she'd start warbling and compromise our position once, and I'd either slope off and leave her to be the decoy/buffet or stick my knife through the top of her skull.
I don't care if her voice can charm the birds from the trees, in that world silence is golden.

Also
Once upon a time, we'd have seen Carol wheeled in and thought 'Poor Carol!'
Now we see her wheeled in and think 'Poor a-holes!'
Melissa McBride deserves huge credit for what she's managed to do with that character.

Beth is somewhat of a Pollyanna but it doesn't bother me as long as she doesn't start singing Sunshine, Lollypops and Rainbows. She's been somewhat protected throughout the plague, by her father and big sister, and her fiancé, and then by Daryl. She hasn't had to go commando. I'm kinda glad there's one character who has held onto the illusion that a normal life can still be possible amongst chaos. Her high happy voice is definitely annoying though lol :(

Do y'all think Beth and Daryl have a brother/sister relationship or a romantic relationship? I'm undecided.

I take it you don't like her singing? She just sang at the prison, I didn't think it was that bad, and her sister harmonized with her.
It's just... CRINGE!!!!!
Emily's not a bad singer but I can see how her voice might get on some peoples' nerves... I've heard some singers that I recognized technically could hold a tune but the way they sang was like fingernails across a chalkboard for me...
Exactly.
It's just like they keep trying to force a reason on us to like her. And I just don't.
I think she was talking about Beth, wasn't she?
Yep.

If they put Beth in a romantic relationship with Daryl, I'm deleting all 5 seasons from my Netflix and never looking back.

Is there anyone who watched the Wire who thinks it's funny that they are reusing a lot of actors from the Wire?
