I think that people tend to forget the second season where she was ready and trying to kill herself..she seemed to be kinda submissive after that..but she did a good job in her portrayal of the character, and it was pretty clear that she needed to grieve, it was tough watching her cry on the after show.. I just wonder who's next..
I'm prepared to take heat for this, but...
She did a better job crying on the Talking Dead than she did on screen when Hershel got beheaded. If she could have channeled a little of the real emotion, I might have liked her better.

I agree her character always seemed a little forced when it came close to any emotion.

From article, The Walking Dead has been voted by fans as Favorite Horror Show.
"And with new faces being introduced in the second half of Season 5 (including American Horror Story alum Alexandra Breckenridge), Andrew Lincoln warns "there are just too many people in the boat. There will be blood!"

Been avoiding this thread pre-catch up ;)

Melted walkers
I think that they were the grossest.

That was a pretty spectacular set-piece, I thought. Distracted me from the dialogue for a moment :wink-new: Kudos to the creators; the effects have been consistently good, I think.

Caught up on the 2nd to last, and mid-season finale last night.

And seeing Morgan was good, but I think if he follows that map, he won't be catching up anytime soon. No reason to head to D.C. anymore, and that waa the route marked on that map.

Same thought as that :smile-new: That scene was an uplifting one for me because...
I viewed it as depicting Morgan as happy/relieved to know that Rick was alive, as of however long ago, rather than it being a confirmation that they will meet up soon. That doesn't cancel out that possibility though; his appearances this season definitely seem to indicate he'll be a pivotal character, IMO.

The mid-season finale was a sad episode I think, and reminiscent of last year's in a way. My thinking, now, is that...
either Maggie or Glenn's days may be numbered...or one or both of them will really step up & prove themselves further. Maggie has lost her whole family now, beginning from S2, and only has Glenn left. As a couple, I do wonder whether they would have got together if they met in non-ZA circumstances; however, they do come across as the great loves of one another's lives. One of those "happy accidental meeting" relationships  So I feel like one or other of them may be in danger, or they may become stronger than ever. It's 50:50 for me.

Looking forward to marathoning the half-season in the interim; so glad we still have American Horror Story and Hannibal S2 [on demand TV, I :love_heart: thee] to watch!

Spoken like a writer :) And you're exactly right: it could be better.

I'm wondering if this is another example of corporate storytelling, i.e., AMC has gotten involved even more with rushing them into big 'scenes'. You have to admit, whenever they try to take an ep to flesh out characters a great number of people (I call them 'idiots') moan about the ep being slow or boring. Season two was great for establishing relationships and who these people are, but a lot of what I've seen is bitching about it.

Now I'll take that and run. :biggrin2:

I think a fair bit of it might come from a certain executive producer. She's been honoured for her involvement in a number of productions, several of which I like and/or are personal favourites, but who is, according to more than one source, a bit of a 'rhymes with witch'. Even James Cameron once described her as 'intense' (and AFAIK he's not exactly Mr Laid Back and Easy Going, himself).
And while I agree about the ADHD brigade ("Aw, this is crap, I want blood! I want brains! Brains! Braynzzzz..."), for all the good stuff season two did plod a fair bit. (I recently ended up rewatching the whole thing with my nephew and niece. They enjoyed it as they watched...but having seen, agree that they were glad to see the back of the days on the farm.)
Guess things have never been quite in balance since season 1 - and I think we know the reason for that, don't we? ;)
