One of the best concerts I ever went to...what I remember of it...He was so nice to the crowd and SO polite. He introduced his band members and spoke about each one of the reverently before introducing himself. "......And I'm Tom Petty, the least talented member of the Heartbreakers, but we'll do our best to be your musical entertainment for the evening." He seemed like a genuinely kind fellow who very much enjoyed playing music. RIP Mr. Petty, you'll be missed. Saw him at Sandstone Ampitheater in Kansas, 1995-ish if I remember correctly.

I just heard that Tom Petty was found in full cardiac arrest and is on life support. He has not regained consciousness. He is 66 years old. Thoughts go out to him and his friends and family as well as Tom Petty fans everywhere.

I am....crushed, I can hardly breathe right now because i'm so upset. Tom Petty was one of my heroes and I loved to listen to his music while writing; In fact the lyrics "Runnin' down a dream, workin' on a mystery, goin' wherever it leads' gave me the idea for my comic I've worked so long on. Why the hell did this have to happen the day before my birthday? This really puts a cloud over everything for me.
